I was thinking about Lebron, but i would still take Bird, maybe move him to PF instead of Duncan and put LBJ at 3

All time, the consensus generally would say:

Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
Tim Duncan
Wilt Chamberlain

Mine would be:

Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
Kevin Garnett
Hakeem Olajuwon

Most will disagree with KG over TD but I believe they're ridiculously close, but I give KG the edge because I think he's a better defensive player overall. Duncan had the huge advantage in terms of situationally always being on contending teams with a great coach. I think if the roles were reversed, as I've said before, KG would have just as many if not more rings than TD, and TD would have been in 1st rd hell in Minnesota during his prime. In comparing their games alone, again, I think its ridiculously close. I apologize in advance if this turns in to another KG vs TD debate, lol.

And it's obviously really difficult to judge how Wilt would do in todays era, or the 80s or 90s. But I dont think he was as complete of a basketball player as Hakeem. But then again, who knows what Wilt would have done with the things that would have been available to him in the 90s and 00s vs back then.

This is a bunk question. It all depends on what you want the particular strengths to be. Do you value post play over jump shooting? How much emphasis do you put on the three-point shot? Are you aiming for a line-up of pure scorers or defensive beasts? Do you play small-ball or go with a big front-line? What kind of offense would they run? It's a toss-up between many players, really.

I, myself, would go with a small team because the best combination of defense, passing ad scoring come from guards and wing players, not big men, however good they may be. Also a small, fast team matches up favourably against big frontcourts. And so, with little regard to position, here is the best (in terms of overall play style and ability) starting five in NBA history.

Gary Payton/Jerry West/Michael Jordan/John Havlicek/Larry Bird

Wanna know whats really funny? The fact that you chose a guy like Stockton over Jordan. Also magic at shooting guard is pretty funny too. If there were signatures on this site I'd quote your lineup in my sig for sure.
