Many people have voiced their complaints about this archaic form of All-Star voting that will likely have Allen Iverson (a guy whose barely played this season) start in Dallas this year over much more qualified and deserving candidates (KG has been injured for a large part of this season and his #'s are nowhere near Bosh's, but he's starting, and Bosh is a reserve).
My question is this. The NHL has a policy now that states EVERY team must be represented (have at least one player) in the all-star game. Do you think that this should be extended to the NBA? I realize that the rosters are smaller, and not every team has a potential All-Star, but let's face it. There is no way some of the guys who made it into this years All-Star game deserve to be there. It seems to me unfair that the fans have as much pull as they do. Your Thoughts? ![]() |

If the roster will get bigger how will everyone play?? Teams can have more than one star. The system is fine how it is except for the voting. How does a player that gets paid like 3million be in the all star game?? (A.I)thats the one thing thats messed up.

If you want the best players at the game, it doesn't make sense to set a limit of 1 per team.
The fans should still get a say, but it should be balanced by other voters (like sports writers, players, coaches, GM's). |

Exactly, it has to become a balance between a number of voting groups. The fans generally have the least knowledge, but the game is played for them so they're always going to get a voice. From articles I've read players aren't much better at picking though. |

I dig Beesh's idea .. except maybe the fans select all the whole roster from which the pros pick the starters? In this scenario the fans still get to see AI in Dallas, but the pros could make sure someone with this year's performance gets the starting nod.

you guys are taking this too seriously. The allstar games is for the fans they should have the same amount of say that they have now, because there is no reprocussions for their mistakes. Just because barkley and these guys are offended about the current situation tough luck. If people want to see allen Iverson than why not, why do they have to ruin it for a guy like Iverson because they're bitter themselves. I do agree that the players should have a vote as well
