he isn't worth more so I think that was a sweet deal
he's to busy chasing a 5/50 contract, very soon he's going to realize good teams can't give him big $$$
maybe he's happy playing for a team like Memphis as long as he gets paid

turning down 9 million a season on a contender. i dont get this. especially since the going rate for him was about 10 million.
so, he's basically turning down 9 million (guaranteed) on one of the best teams in the conference, for the chance of making an extra 1 million on what will probably be a non-contending team?

maybe he wasnt happy there, or doesnt like the fact that VC will be stealing some of his shots... strange.
this has got to be heartbreaking for the Magic, if Hedo would have re-signed, they would have been odds on favorites to come out eastern conference champs next season.

im guessing the kicker was the number of years.
hedo probably wanted at least 5, and the magic called his bluff by offered only 4.
5 years @ 45-50 million, is so much more attractive to a player than 4 years @ 35M.

Um, this is a pro league. They're all in it for the money to some extent.

That being said, he should have taken the offer, he won't find a better deal from another contender.

I think Turkoglu is worth ten mil on the right team. He's a matchup nightmare. Any 6'10 player who can run a pick and roll the way he does is worth 10mil. And he's clutch. Without him that team struggles down the stretch in games and loses the close ones.

Took the words outta my mouth and look at how much they're paying Rashard Lewis. Turkoglu's worth more to the team than Rashard.
