The Cleveland Cavaliers have been attempting to trade for Timofey Mozgov over the past six to eight weeks, according to Brian Windhorst.

But Sports.ru's Alexander Chernykh has reported that it will not happen.

Mozgov is making $4.65 million this season with the Denver Nuggets and has a $4.95 million team option in 15-16.

The Cavaliers have a clear need at backup center.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Bucks will send Carlos Delfino and Radiluca to the Clippers for Dudley and a future first-round pick, source tells Yahoo.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA ·
Delfino is likely sidelined for the season. For the Clippers, this is a way to get Dudley contract off.

In regards to the Bucks/Clippers deal, since Delfino will be out the entire season, does this mean that his salary does not affect the team salary cap and will the Clippers be able to receive the player injury exception money like the Pacers did with George?

He had two foot surgeries in the last year. Not sure why he'd miss another season. The second surgery last November recovery time was originally supped to be 6 months.

I'm guessing post concussion syndrome - he's had 2 major ones with the 2nd one last year.

New Orleans Pelicans sign John Salmons - ESPN

Quote:
METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Pelicans have signed veteran small forward John Salmons to a free agent contract.

Salmons, whose acquisition was announced by the club Tuesday, has played 12 seasons in the NBA. He has averaged 9.4 points, 3 rebounds and 2.5 assists during his career.

The 34-year-old Salmons entered the NBA with Philadelphia after being selected 26th overall in the 2002 draft. He has twice played with Sacramento and also spent time with Chicago, Milwaukee and most recently Toronto.

Salmons, 6-foot-6, has appeared in 874 games with 429 starts.

The Pelicans have been looking to add depth at small forward since Al-Farouq Aminu left for Dallas in free agency this offseason.

They did but that contract didn't go through because something came up. It is now official though.

Doc Rivers, Los Angeles Clippers agree to contract extension - ESPN Los Angeles

Quote:
Doc Rivers has agreed to a new deal with the Los Angeles Clippers that will keep him there through the end of the 2018-19 season, the team announced Wednesday.

Rivers, who joined the team last year, will continue to serve as its head coach and president of basketball operations during the duration of the deal. Rivers' new deal will pay him in excess of $10 million annually, according to multiple sources.

Rivers had two years remaining on the three-year, $21 million deal he signed last year when he came to Los Angeles from the Boston Celtics.

"This is an important day for this organization," Clippers owner Steve Ballmer said in a statement. "I am excited to work with Doc for a long time as we build a championship culture that will deliver results both on and off the court. Not only is Doc one of the best coaches and executives in the game, but he continually embodies the hard core, committed and resilient character and winning culture that the Clippers represent. It was one of my top priorities to ensure that he was firmly in place as the long-term leader of this team."

Rivers had told Clippers interim CEO Dick Parsons that he was considering leaving the team if Donald Sterling remained its owner. Parsons testified as much during a probate hearing in Los Angeles that eventually paved the way for Sterling's wife, Shelly, to sell the team to Ballmer for $2 billion.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Clippers president and coach Doc Rivers' extension will be worth more than $50 million over five years, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. Twitter @WojYahooNBA
It's crazy that Rivers will be making more money than the majority of players on his roster. The only one's that will make more money in annual salary is Paul, Griffin and Jordan
