Maybe Asik will have a breakout 20 and 10 season, the Pelicans will make the playoffs, and everyone who said this was a bad trade will be eating crow?

Apparently the Asik-to-NO deal isn't official, as the Pelicans need to create a bit more cap room to absorb Asik's contract.

The $8.3M trade exception that Houston would get in return could be more valuable than the draft pick. They could possibly do a sign-and-trade deal for a player like Lowry or Bledsoe, using the trade exception to absord the incoming salary - this, of course, assumes they land Melo or James.

It's not official because it has to happen in July, when the new salaries kick in. And the Pelicans project to have enough cap room as it is, all they have to do is renounce their free agents.

Not sure but MU wants to offer that 37 for 22. I can do live with that

I can live with Prince for the 1 year....champion, competitor and would be an ideal mentor for Ross and to some extent DD as well - little things to look for and attack defensively, those nuances that one just needs to be taught and shown.

hard to tell, NBAdraft has Capela at 29 and Ennis at 20. Draftexpress has Capela at 20 and Ennis at 21. Mocks are all over the place confirming the parity in that range.

Who knows, it could all be a rouse and he picks players unexpected or just 1 or combines and moves up

If the Warriors front office want to keep Klay instead of trading him for Love, they just need to ask AI. Seems AI really wants Klay to stay by creating another solution for the team - his former college team mate: Channing Frye.

At least according to hoopshype. Not a bad thought at all.

Another rumour making the rounds prior to the draft was that the Cleveland Cavaliers are thinking about trading Canadian power forward Tristan Thompson. They have a crowded frontcourt and concerns about being able to pay Thompson, who is aiming at a contract in the four-year, $50-million range on an extension he is eligible to sign this summer.

Would the Raptors be interested? He has plenty of fans in the organization but the challenge is that the Raptors will be trying to come to terms on an extension with Jonas Valancuinas this summer and would be unlikely to absorb another young big with a payday looming.

If Cleveland trades Tristan Thompson, I guarantee you Kyrie will bail from that squad a.s.a.p.

Hope they're tire kicking cause they'd be crazy not to keep that #1 for Wiggins. Doesn't make sense at all unless they are;

a)extremely stupid
b)have an ace in the hole that will shock everyone and pull it together.

I'm leaning towards option a

The Cleveland Cavaliers are asking for the No. 3, No. 10 and No. 32 overall picks from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the No. 1 overall pick.

The 76ers are widely believed to want to draft Andrew Wiggins.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the 76ers could select Joel Embiid if they keep the pick.

I wouldn't mind TT but 4 year / 50 million? It's not 10 years ago, he's so so on defense and decent enough on offense - he's not worth KL type of money....would rather go after John Henson and extend him in a couple years.

As for JV, what does it matter if he's eligible for an extension next year? Would kick in till the year after that.

Anyone like what NY has done and they're picks? Early and Thanasis are great picks for the second rd - talk about making something nice from an aged C and a shit pg. dally loves attention and really excels when he has it: what better place than NY - Aged Chandler = Dally IMO and way cheaper. They're making some nice moves with what they have so far and I'm sure there will be a couple more moves.

Apparently Bo McCalebb is finally looking to come to the NBA. He'd be a great get for the Raptors if Vasquez asks for too much:

Quote:
All-Star forward Zach Randolph has reached agreement with the the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-year, $20 million contract extension that begins in 2015-16, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Randolph's agent, Raymond Brothers, told Yahoo Sports on Friday morning that an agreement had been reached.

Randolph, 32, will exercise his $16.5 million player option for 2014-15 and extend the deal with the additional two years and $20 million. Randolph had until Monday to exercise his option or become a free agent on July 1. Talks had been ongoing for several weeks.

An extremely popular figure in the Memphis community, Randolph has expressed a strong desire to finish his career in the city where he has truly blossomed as a professional.

Randolph was essential in holding together a Memphis core that won 50 games and advanced to a Game 7 against Oklahoma City in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Randolph has twice been an All-Star for the Grizzlies. He averaged 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds this past season.
Looks like Z-Bo is no longer an option for any team.
