I'd love Z-bo on this team.....

Zach Randolph and the Memphis Grizzlies have hit an impasse in discussions on a contract extension and he's seriously considering using his early termination option to become a free agent.

Raymond Brothers, Randolph's agent, has been talks with Chris Wallace for several weeks.

Memphis has held firm on a three-year extension, but Randolph has preferred the security of four years, league sources said.

Randolph is an extremely popular player in Memphis and has expressed a desire to retire with the franchise.

Z-Bo or Gasol plus a re-signed Lowry would be a great off-season.

Felton? Looks like Jose might be a Knick soon? Or would they just wave Felton?

Huge for Dallas.

Shed Calderon's 22 million over the next 3 years AND getting a very solid defensive anchor?

Love it.

I doubt the Mavs will ride with Felton. More moves to come.

That and if we retain PP and GV, I don't see why we can't beat the heat. We easily be the 2nd best team and yes, I would take this sqaud over bulls/pacers any day.

But. To be real, this won't ever happen in a million years.

Knicks out: Felton (3.6M), Chandler (14.1M) - total 17.7M

Dallas out: Calderon (6.8M), Dalembert (3.7M), Larkin (1.5M) - total 12.0M

Note that this wouldn't work. Dallas would end the deal over the tax line, and as such can only accept 125% + 100k - which this deal does not fit. So perhaps there is another player to be included going NY's way.

But perhaps they will simply agree to the deal, then do it in July. Then the new year's salaries would kick in.

Knicks out: Felton (3.8M), Chandler (14.6M) - total 18.4M

Dallas out: Calderon (7.1M), Dalembert (3.9M), Larkin (1.6M) - total 12.6M

Oops. Still no good. Even though the Mavs are no longer up against the tax, they are still over the cap, so they are limited to outgoing + 5M in this case. And they are looking for 5.8M extra here. So still, someone else needs to be included.

I expect Wayne Ellington to be included as well. Makes 2.7M and would balance the salaries in both scenarios.

Reports say that a 2nd rounder is also going to NYK.

Oops - both second rounders this year.

Apparently Chandler wanted out and didn't want to be part of a rebuild.
NY had to shed some $$$. Dalembert can be bought out for $1.8

New York Knicks’ Tyson Chandler Trade Target for Dallas Mavericks | Knicks 101 | Sports Media 101

I like Chandler but he is past his prime already maybe due to injuries.

This trade will be great for Dallas, provided they waive or trade Felton. Calderon must feel really pissed now, since he just got back into the playoffs with a solid team and will now be heading to a rebuilding one once Melo leaves this off-season. I feel sad for Calderon. Hopefully Jackson flips him to a playoff team.
