He likely won't get that much more annual salary, this is more about term.

My guess would be 4yrs/28-30mil.

For sure. My point was that Heat/LAC can't afford him, he's going to be looking for money+years.

7-7.5 million/year is what he's worth imo. I could see someone giving him 8mil too I guess.

That's what I was thinking as well. He's proved he's past his heart issues playing well in all 82 games last year.

Clips can't but the Heat probably will especially if the big 3 readjust their contracts - they won't improve unless they take less.

lakers looking to shed nash's contract and offering 7th as a sweetener. i understand he is a waste of money but if we could offer them say our 2nd rounders and salmons, this would be great for the franchise in terms of marketing and raps could use that pick on a solid player like maybe randle/levine/gordon.

Frye is a good player, but teams are going away from offering the mid level guys long term deals at high prices because it ends up killing their cap in the long run.

I expect Frye to get 3 years 18 million at most, or a 2 year deal for more money.

Not a waste of money....no different than Boozer/pick for non guaranteed or Perkins/29 for the same. I think the Lakers will want a solid player in return though - they don't want to wait. Not sure if the Raps have anything they'd want except giving them more cap room and if that's what they want let's giddy-up - it would give them close to 40 mil with the anticipated cap increase. Watch, the Lakers end up with Love, Deng, KL ff's

One source insists nothing imminent, but I'm told Pistons and Kings have discussed a trade that would send Josh Smith to Sacramento

One potential scenario, I'm told, would send Smith to Kings for Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams. Jason Terry might be another option

Considering he played like what 12 games and was constantly in rehabilitation, he is likely done but he has said " I do want the money". Also, Raptors really don't have a player that is cheap other then Ross and no way they should give him up to absorb 10 million of dead weight

It is definitely hilarious, but I think the Kings believe if they can acquire Smith, then they might be able to get Rondo from Boston. They could easily offer the 8th pick in this year's draft, plus a combo of future 1st and 2nd round picks, along with Ben McLemore, Isaiah Thomas (sign-and-trade) and possibly Carl Landry or Jason Thompson.

Thompson would only be apart of the deal if the Kings instead trade Williams and Landry to Detroit for J. Smith.

Maybe the deal becomes a 3-way trade where by everything that I just listed happens, but instead Boston moves Jeff Green to Detroit and and Derrick Williams goes to Boston instead of Detroit.

Boston need to go full rebuild mode now, while the Pistons are only a few decent pieces away from being a 6th-8th seed in the East. I think the Pistons will re-sign Greg Monroe at all costs and the only other piece they would truly need to move is that chucker Brandon Jennings.

A starting line-up for the Pistons of:

New Starting PG
Singler
Green or Williams (depending on which trade)
Monroe
Drummond

Should be able to get them into the playoffs again. The Pistons have a ton of cap to spend, especially if the can get rid of Smith, so they could easily go out a sign a new starting PG.

Plenty of options Lowry, Shaun Livingston, Vasquez, Hinrich, Patty Mills, Mo Williams, Darren Collison, Chalmers, Bledsoe, Avery Bradley (more of an SG). While some wouldn't be considered starters, they are all upgrades over Jennings in a big way.

Either way, this off-season is going to be very interesting.

It seems that SAC is aiming to have the worst chucking/least mature team ever assembled. Coach Malone is going to end up hurting himself 10 games into the year coaching them should they acquire Smith.

Though, if Gay didn't opt in, I think a Smith/Cousins frontcourt would be surprisingly effective and mesh well to be honest.

I'm confused, Nash is owed around 10mil and the Raps have 19mil in non guaranteed contracts....it's an easy move in my mind to get the #7 pick imo. Honestly, if giving up Salmons/Ross gets us Nash/#7 in this years daft? I say do it - who cares if Nash doesn't play for his 1 year but to get an opportunity to get Levine, Gordon, Smart, Randle or even Exum?

I wouldn't deal Ross to get Nash and #7. If they want cap space, then deal Salmons, GV's rights, and a future draft pick or one of the seconds for Nash and #7. Heck, I would even consider Amir in the deal than Ross.
