Its a win win for them, but who knows if Beasley will even get through training camp before Spoelstra gets fed up with his lazyness.

One thing I cant picture right now is Beasley working hard on defence like every player needs to when playing for Miami, especially if he's going to be a stretch 4, having to hedge hard and trap pick and rolls, and recover quickly to his next rotation. It's hard to imagine him fitting in the frantic defensive system they run, given what he's shown so far.

Is there a possibility that Beasly can go the way of Rodman? MJ and Pippen kept him straight while in Chicago - on the floor anyways, I'm wondering if LBJ and DWade can have the same effect on Beasley. IF they can then Miami will be tougher than they were the last 2 years.

Except Rodman always played hard and smart when on the floor. His basketball IQ was quite high, and he was highly motivated to outwork his opponent. Beasley has never shown either of those qualities, which is what is so troubling about him. Sure he's super talented, but if he's not hot from the field, he's useless. Again, judging from the past, it's hard to see Beasley all of a sudden changing and turning into a serviceable defensive player, and smart offensive player.

Darius Morris got signed by Philly. I didn't post a link because, well... he's going to Philly.

That's true, for all Rodman's faults he worked is butt off on the court, Beasley's the polar opposite......really too bad, so much talent but always has his head in the clouds...

Beasley can definitely be serviceable, especially in Miami. He averaged 19 points as a starter in Minnesota two years ago. He's got the talent, and now he has peers around him who he respects, and DWade who shows him respect. I think we could all be surprised at how well he fits in.

He just finished playing for two organizations that didn't really want Michael Beasley. Now he just needs to play basketball and answer to his peers rather than a GM/coach trying to find a target to blame for their shitty win/loss record or speaking rhetoric about how the Beas doesn't fit with winning cultures.

Another Versatile weapon added to the Heat. I think he'll get his share of decent minutes this year with DWade, Ray Allen, and Battier all getting their share of rest games. Maybe even Lebron. He'll crack their 10-man ahead of Lewis and probably Varnado

Lebron
DWade
Mario
Bosh
Haslem

Rayray
Battier
Beas
Cole
Bird

Oden
Anthony
Varnado
Lewis

I liked JJ a lot when he played for the Raps so I was pretty surprised how much he sucked on the Kings. JJ's downfall and Landry Fields' stupid good luck kind of leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

the day he was traded from the chicago bulls for a 2nd round pick raised a lot of red flags for me. it could be something about his attitude that is turning off teammates and organizations. first he was going to be a solid starter alongside a blooming star in rose, then traded to toronto for a second chance to redeem himself (he changed his number to 0 or something) but he blew that by pissing off the coach and demanding shots, when he clearly had no offensive game, and so the free fall downwards happened.

but seriously whats up with these forwards in the league that have solid strengths in a lot of areas in their game but fall out of rosters quickly? lol xavier henry, wesley johnson, james johnson etc.

How much would you guys give cousins?

Quote:

DeMarcus Cousins is on track to have his contract extended with the Sacramento Kings before the Oct. 31 deadline for 2010 first round picks, according to sources.

Cousins could have a deal wrapped up before the Kings open training camp next week.

Contract negotiations are under way and Pete D'Alessandro is scheduled to return to Sacramento early this week to resume talks.

Getting a max contract is not a foregone conclusion for the controversial Cousins, however. He has averaged 16.3 points and 9.8 rebounds in his career but has also led or been near the league lead in fouls, and his volatility has resulted in multiple suspensions.

By the way, Shaq is the new Kings minority owner. The article is long, so I won't copy paste everything:

Quote:
Shaquille O'Neal — "Dr. O'Neal," if you ask him — is hoping to help cure the Sacramento Kings.

As the Kings continue their image makeover that was sparked by the late May sale of the team to Vivek Ranadive, they have made a big and bold move by adding O'Neal as a minority owner. The TNT analyst once gleaned pleasure in deriding the Kings, whom he owned in a very different way when his Lakers thrice knocked their rival out of the playoffs en route to titles in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Now his joy will come from seeing one of the league's worst-performing franchises turn things around.

His involvement will begin in earnest today, as O'Neal — who has a doctorate degree in education from Barry University in Miami — plans to meet with Kings players and coaches in Sacramento before having dinner with franchise centerpiece and new protégé DeMarcus Cousins.
