Just to add to Jeff's post, Indianas pick is lottery protected. So basically as long as they aren't a letdown. Which is obviously very unlikely.

That's a nice upgrade for the Suns actually, since they are stupid and passed on McClemore and McCollum in the draft. They need backcourt help really bad. Hopefully that Gerald Green guy will give them a big adrenaline boost.

Decent deal for Milwaukee......

Quote:
The Milwaukee Bucks and Gary Neal have agreed to a two-year, $7.0 million deal.

The deal is fully guaranteed.

Neal emerged as a key contributor off the bench for the San Antonio Spurs.

Scola is starting material on a sub par team, but smart move for indy, top 3 for sure this year

Indy pre-heating the oven. The question is will Granger fit in?

I think they should trade granger for a quality PG, no offense to Hill, love the guy, but thats the next thing that their missing, a stronger guard that can penetrate and give room for DW HB and george to go to work

They had the cap room for Deron Williams last year iirc. That team would arguably be better than the heat.

Do not trade Rudy Gay for Granger. Unless the Pacers spice up the pot.

Gary Neal earned it. Sitting in Tony Parker's shadow this whole time. He's going to be a future All-Star for the Bucks. Gary Neal won as many games for San Antonio as did Duncan, Parker and Ginobli combined.

Danny Green 1-12 in game 7 ??? See what I mean.

Steve Nash retires and the Lakers acquire Brandon Jennings.

Do I get a free pizza coupon if my fruition becomes reality?

I'd give just about anything to see Jennings/Kobe on the floor together.

The thing is, if Granger is almost 100% healthy, that trade might make us better based on fit alone. Although Granger was a bit of a chucker in the past, he did scale back his shot attemps as Indiana's surrounding talent got better the past couple of years. And he can REALLY nail the 3-ball if the opposition leaves him open. He'll always attract attention on the perimeter, or kill oppossing Ds. That might better enable Demar to go to work in the post when he gets a smaller guard on him. And, frankly, I think Granger is a bit tougher and nastier, which I like.

Don't see why Pacers would want Gay... but somewhat agree, he's a better fit, just not sure if I like him over Gay.

I don't think the Pacers would want Rudy either, especially his extra salary. The Pacers are an elite team without Rudy or Granger. I was just looking at it from our perspective in the short term.

If IND offered Granger to NOH for Gordon, who would say no? It seems like the perfect fit for both teams. Granger would allow Evans to play his more natural position at the 2 and gives them cap flexibility, whereas Gordon goes home and gives IND a 2nd creator on the perimeter who can knock down shots, when healthy of course.

I think Oden is going to end up in NO. I really hope hes committed himself to staying healthy and working out, because a frontline of him and Davis would be awesome defensively, and just what NOH needs to get into the playoffs this year.

Two years ago, I would have thought that Granger for Gordon deal was a no brainer. I really liked Gordon his last year with the Clippers. But that's just from a basketball perspective.

The problem is, of course, Gordon can't stay in the lineup. So you have to then ask is he worth the extra 2 years at about the same salary you're paying Granger, who is expiring. This is more than a basketball decision, and is a perfect example of why GMs turn down trade offers that confuse fans. You gotta remember Paul George is also coming up for a contract extension which will likely be max. Indiana is a truly small market team and has legit reasons to be careful avoiding going too far into the tax and having trouble keeping a solid bench. George on first max, Hibbert on first max, West on a big salary, Hill a bit overpaid....then you add Gordon on first max...that's a lot of salary for a small market to pay to the starting lineup.

So, management might say no if they feel the cost-benefit of the salary allocation is a negative.
