I don't think there would be a controversy. Tell him he'd have the same roll he had in GS.

That means they had to renounce birds rights cap holds on a bunch of players, including Jack, as well as the MLE.

So they can only sign Jack with cap space. They'd have to ditch Bogut or Lee to create that room, since those are the only expendable guys GS has left, who earn more than rookie contract money. Right now it looks like they are using Bogut as part of a Howard deal, so that possiblity is out.

If anybody is down for a PG controversy, maybe we can sign JJ to a $5 mill per year deal using the MLE.
From what I've been reading, GS is openly stating today that they are shopping those 3 players for cap space - for or not for Howard (we all know it's for Howard) so hopefully JJ can go back there - they really need him.

As for that line with AI, I quite like it. Barnes' defense.....has a ways to go and GS needs defense cause they sure aren't getting a lot from their guards. The AI move makes sense to me either way (in regards to Howard)

The playoffs there would be insane with that lineup + their crowd. Would love to see it.
He's played with two of the worst organizations in the NBA, not his fault.

Put him with a good team and he'd be a great contributor.

+1 like he did for the Spanish National team when they were challenging the American super stars and on a number of occasions - kicked their butts

Well, assuming they don't use Bogut's contract in a Howard trade: if GS can move Bogut to a cap room team, or to Orlando (trade exception), without having to take anything back, the Warriors create a bunch of room and could re-sign Jack that way. But I still think their first priority is using the Bogut deal to facillitate the Howard trade.

Dwight Howard had narrowed his decision down to the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets before the Golden State Warriors acquired Andre Iguodala.

The Dallas Mavericks have been formally eliminated by Howard for consideration, but the Warriors still could acquire him via sign-and-trade
realGM

I posted earlier something similar - AI changed that potential deal for Howard. I still believe that GS has way too much work to even try to sign Howard but absolutely they closed the gap. I think GS will be great with or without Howard.

I still believe the Rockets is where he'll end up.

Meeehhh, they were bad in part due to him. Even if you like him, you've got to admit the guy is far from perfect and is not getting any younger. His apologists love to defend him but he has issues. Some are too hard on him (myself included) but it goes both ways.

The Golden State Warriors have reached agreement with the Utah Jazz to dump the salaries of Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson and Brandon Rush.

The combined salaries of Jefferson and Biedrins are just over $24 million.

The Warriors will acquire Kevin Murphy in the deal while sending multiple picks, including their first rounder in 2014 and 2017.
I see they covered their bases though by holding onto Bogut in case Howard picks them.

Wonder if they will sneak in now. I can see Howard, being the soft pillow he is and not wanting to hurt anyone, going to GSW so the the Lakers can have Barnes/Bogut which will allow Howard to be seen as a good guy again and not a pariah.

The Golden State Warriors are still ready to engage the Los Angeles Lakers in sign-and-trade discussions, according to sources.

The Warriors acquired Andre Iguodala on Friday after they cleared cap space in a deal with the Utah Jazz.

The Warriors would build any deal for Howard around the expiring contract of Andrew Bogut and either Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson.

If the Warriors are unable to make a deal for Howard, he is expected to sign with the Houston Rockets, according to a source.

The Rockets, Warriors, Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks have been in pursuit of Howard this offseason.

Another Thompson playing for the Lakers would be pretty cool.

I was thinking Barnes would be nice to pair with Kobe but Thompson might be a nice replacement. Personally, I can see him with the potential to be another Harden - just will get there faster cause he's been playing in the starting line-up.

Dwight Howard will sign with the Rockets, according to a person with knowledge of his decision.

In addition to the Rockets, the Lakers, Warriors, Mavericks and Hawks were all in the race to sign Howard.

The source is David Aldridge's twitter - @daldridgetnt
Quote:
The Utah Jazz have renounced their Bird Rights to Paul Millsap in order to acquire two first round picks from the Golden State Warriors.

The Jazz used their cap space to acquire Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Brandon Rush from the Warriors.

Millsap is an unrestricted free agent.
So it looks like GS gave up two first rounders in order for the Jazz to completely absorb $25 mill worth of contracts (Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Rush).

I guess this means Utah is going to play their young guys a lot and tank. Burke, Favors, and Kanter will likely get a lot of burn next year.

Is it me or will Atlanta get that much tougher if they bring in Asik and Lin for Smith and still have a boatload of cash to find a SG/SF.
