Adrian Wojnarowski ✔ @WojYahooNBA

There won't be a fifth year on the Splitter deal. The terms will be four years, $36 million-plus, sources tell Y! Sports.

Agreed. His motor alone would be a positive... and we've rarely had a guy willing to get up in an opponent's personal space, maybe it would rub off on some

Larry Coon @LarryCoon

Whoa, did Pop and R.C. confuse Tiago Splitter with Kawhi Leonard?

-------

Ken Berger @KBergCBS

Rip Hamilton will soon be a free agent as the Bulls will waive him rather than guarantee his $5 million salary for next season, source says.

Wow... rich.. what was his injury? blown knee? I guess he's a nice role player for that particular system, a guy who can shoot and pass. But it's not cheap at all.

Yes, yes they did. That's a lot of dough for Tiago.

The San Antonio Spurs and Tiago Splitter are finalizing a $45 million contract over the next five seasons.

The Portland Trail Blazers had been preparing to sign Splitter to an offer sheet of $36 million over four seasons.

Splitter had a PER of 18.7 over 81 games this past season as his minutes increased to 24.7 per game.

You got to have multiple competitive tough players. It sets the tone across the table, practice, locker room, games. Especially a team where the future depends on how the youngsters will develop.

BTW, the Portland / Splitter info... I guess it puts the Aldridge rumor and "Portland will tank" rumors to rest. They are clearly looking to go all-in and spend all their cap space on a veteran big man, probably use exception on some bench guys, and make the playoffs.
Which is the right thing to do in their situation, IMO.

That's a great deal for the Clippers, love it.

Re Bledsoe -- the P word (potential). He defends, and he has a ton of potential if his jumper gets consistent. A bit like a young Dragic actually but with a ton of D, so the Suns have experience developing that type of guard.

Btw, Kirilenko opting out basically didn't give Minnesota any cap space. Unless they let Pekovic go. That sucks for them.
