We should get in contact with Marreese Speights who just became an unrestricted free agent.

However, what that does show is that the status of all those players and their chances of returning to the team are precarious. Clearly Ujiri isn't enthused about moving forward with all of those players and he's looking to move some of them this summer while adding more youth to the roster via draft picks.
I don't agree with the bolded part in the article at all.

Ujiri may want to rebuild but these are major project picks. High risk high reward. It's not about position, and Mitchell isn't even a SF most likely, he's a PF.

These are just two guys that you would keep in the D-League and bring into practice time to time and let fly with the team. You wouldn't expect either to contribute any time soon. But if you are lucky and you work with them, they might be very good starters one day and the steals of the draft.

These are Spurs type picks, if anything. Adding long term assets and trusting your development staff.

Ahh i forgot about him. Then the bench is complete and really nice. They need to keep looking for an athlete / wing defender, maybe someone cheap like Ronnie Brewer. They are going to miss that type of piece come the playoffs.

The Dunleavy and Blatche deals are complete steals. Dunleavy will be a perfect fit on the Bulls who are in need of a knockdown 3 point shooter and capable ball handler, plus he's a nice upgrade from Belinelli.

Blatche had a breakout year, and I guess is showing his loyalty by only re-signing for 1.4 million. He's going to look even better next to KG next year when Blatche comes into the game. I dont expect Evans to play nearly as much next season due to his inability to score, and defend the post.

If the Nets have also locked in Korver as reported, a bench of Terry, Korver, Teletovic, Blatche, and Evans is more than enough depth for their very good starting 5. The key for the Nets was to get capable backups to be able to give KG/Pierce rest during the season, and Korver/Blatche have shown they're more t han capable of playing 20-30 mpg if need be and still be effective while playing heavy minutes.

Brooklyn has had an outstanding offseason.

Someone from ESPN (not sure who) was on the fan after the PP/KG deal and said they were currently at 95mil and would be over 100mil once they added depth/bench players. He said that with the punitive taxes they will end up paying a total of 180mil for the 2013-14 season. Now, imo they won't win a championship with that team......not worth that dough.

Apparently Marshon Brooks was included instead. The initial reports said that it was Evans going to the Celtics, but a couple of salary pages have Brooks going to the Celts and Evans remaining with the Nets. I think the salary pages are accurate. It makes more sense that the Celts would insist on the younger Brooks being included in the deal.

Blatche will be paid a total of $8,876,820 next season, most of it from the Wizards under a complicated formula the league set up for amnestied players. If the Nets or another team had offered him the mini-MLE, his combined salary and amnesty payout would have reached $9,780,519. The options are laid out here. By signing with the Nets, Blatche will have his Early Bird rights next July and be eligible for a new contract up to four years and $25 million.

It's not entirely loyalty. Windex posted an article that has an additional link in that article which provides a somewhat convoluted explanation for why Blatche and the Nets can mutually benefit from him signing for the vet min right now.

Basically, he's still getting his amnesty payments from the Wizards, so he's not hard up for cash. He's rich biatch! Anyway, by signing for 1.4 mill with the Nets, he only loses about 20K (due to the off-set formula for amnesty payments) from not signing for, say, $3 mill with a team that will give him the mini-mle. 20K is peanuts. Plus, by signing the shorter term deal, he leaves himself free to sign a longer term deal when the amnesty payments stop. Next year will be the time to sign a longer term deal with the Nets. By staying with the Nets, they are able to retain his early birds rights, which means they can sign him over the cap. Their huge payroll won't prevent them from giving him a decent deal. Since the Nets piss and shit money, they will probably pay Blatche a respectable sum next timel, assuming he plays well this year.

And it helps the Nets, too, because by having Blatche available to be signed with early birds rights, it means the Nets can use the mini-MLE on some other bench player, if they want to add somebody. Everybody wins, except the Wizards.

If you are someone who got 20 bil by simply bribing a few people and buying state property for 1% the price... 180 mil is nothing.
