Aldridge signs 5 year/65 million dollar extension

I wonder if Hollinger will rip them apart for extending aldridge for even more than Bargnani ... This season they will have very similar stats, with a slight edge to andreea, so those extra 15 million over 5 years should start looking pretty expensive.

Big guys, even scrubs, will always make more than small guys, it's supply and demand.

Big guys with skills, the Bargnani's, the Aldridges?? The will get thiers.

You're right moremilk, I am curious too, because at times they really seem like monkey's. but then, is it not thier job to evoke emotion??

You're right SJ, it is their job, but also they need to show fair and balanced reporting as well, something that ultimately lacks in alot of analysis.

Aldridge is better overall player than Bargnani. First he is much better defender than Bargnani. Second, Aldridge is a more consistent scorer than Bargnani because Aldridge can shoot and has post moves. With Bargnani, who gets the majority of his points with his perimeter shooting, Bargnani scores under 10 points in one game and over 20 points the next game. If Bargnani shot is not falling, he ain't scoring more than 10 points.

That certainly sounds like the Bargnani of the Sam Mitchell days. Everyone has their off days, but Bargs showed the ability to contribute on a consistent level last year. Aldridge brings something different to the table than Bargnani, not sure if that would warrant him being considered better, but he certainly provides some things we wish Bargnani possessed. I guess the real question is, is the 13 a year justified? Essentially, he'll have to prove that much like Bargnani and his salary.

Comparing stats without factoring in stuff like team strength or pace is useless.

Bargnani and Aldridge puts up the same stats...but the Blazers have one of the slowest offence in the league. Enough said.

Portland made the right move locking up Aldridge. He will explode over the next couple of years and average bout 22 and 9 this season.

I don't know about his stats going up because Oden has been playing quite well in the Pre-season and he will get more passes and rebounds around the basket this season. I'd say Aldridge averages the same numbers.
