Allen Iverson(notes) fully intends to resume his NBA career, preferably this season, his personal manager told Yahoo! Sports on Monday night.
Quote:
"There is absolutely no doubt that he still wants to play," Gary Moore, Iverson's personal manager, told Yahoo! Sports.
Quote:
"There should be no doubt in anyone's mind. He will be working out every day until he hears from someone."

"It doesn't have to be a starting role if it's the right situation, right circumstances," Moore said.

Because his dog ate his homework? Maybe he realized he was stupid to sign with Memphis? I mean, you know, most people realized that as soon as there were rumors about him signing in Memphis but live and learn I guess.

So he wasn't willing to come off of the bench for Memphis and that's why he was waived. Now all of a sudden he wants to play by any means, even if that means coming off of the bench. I highly doubt he ends up coming off of the bench anywhere. The problem is, is that I cannot see very many teams in a position to offer a starting spot if Memphis wasn't.

I think he thought he was going to be a starter and when he discovered that the Grizzlies weren't going to do that, the Grizzlies discovered that Iverson under no circumstances was going to lose while on the bench. I think he signs with a contender which is what he should have done from the get go. I could see the Celtics going after him. They're trying to corner the market on shits heads (Sorry Ray, I'm not talking about you) after all.

i guess the 25+ minutes he averaged over 3 games (while coming off an injury, mind you) doesnt mean squat when you arent in the starting lineup.

this guy is a piece of work.

Certainly doesn't mean squat if they're not winning, based on what he has said.

The same culprits that picked up Former Shmuck of the Years Award winners Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury?

oh, of course... "winning" is the reason he signed with Memphis in the first place... i mean, the memphis grizzlies have such a rich tradition of winning, and championships....

LOL, no way he starts there though... so you can scratch them off the list.
i still think he'll end up in NY. thats pretty much the only place who would take him, and he'd actually start.

No, I said he wanted to be a starter and if he wasn't a starter he would want to be winning. This is paraphrasing what he said. If you don't like it then take it up with him, not me. Simple as that.

i know this is going to sound fucking crazy i think he could be productive in clevland, or it would drive james out of there so its a big risk but with west's problems iverson could help out james for sure. I know its not worth the risk but if you think about it he could just be what there looking for.

Ya I agree if he going anywhere it shall be the Knicks. The clincher is he shares agents with Lebron. Doesn't hurt to make the Agent happy a big now so he can remember during the summer

In the words of AI: Listen just cause I wanted to start for Detroit and Memphis and subsequently left because I didn't get my way , doesn't mean I won't start. I just need a job. Trust me, like Detroit and Memphis did.

Except 2 games in he'll ask to start alongside Wade and jack up 30 shots. Having Beasley and Chalmers there is fine and bringing in Ivy would hurt their development. I say he goes off to Europe, would love to see him play alongside Von Wafer.

I'm not debating about AI with you but I am pointing out what's been reported. You're only taking half of what he said and using that to rip on him. You don't need to do it half assed, he's an easy target right now. He wants to start and/or play for a winner and it sounds like he jumped ship in Memphis because he was getting neither. Pretty simple. And as such...

Because he wants to start and/or play for a winner... He can't start or play for a winner in Memphis.

No, because he wants to start and/or play for a winner... The Grizzlies situation no longer provided either.

"Start and/or play for a winner"...In this case I'm pretty sure he would not have wasted his time going there had he knew he was going to come off the bench. It doesn't make sense and what happened in Detroit should have made it very clear if words were not working. I think the Grizzlies had a change of heart and decided to bring him off the bench. Like it or more than likely dislike it, it is what it is. I can understand the logic behind it even if I think its poor business.
