Logo Adam Silver open to getting rid of long sleeved jersey's

Adam Silver will consider ending NBA sleeved jerseys, according to report - SBNation.com

Quote:
NBA commissioner Adam Silver will meet with*Miami Heat*star*LeBron James*at the end of the season to discuss the possibility of ending the sleeved jerseys experiment,*according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.James has been a vocal critic of the sleeved uniforms,*bashing them*after a 6-of-18 performance in a loss to the*San Antonio Spurs*on March 6.

Others have criticized the jerseys as well, but the league took special notice when James opened up about them.Silver said he has already had conversations with James about the jerseys, but they agreed to table the discussions until after the season. At that point, a decision will be made about the future of the jerseys, and Silver isn't opposed to getting rid of them if the players insist:

i'd love to see some stats for the top 25-30 players on whether or not their numbers go up/stay the same/go down when they wear the long sleeve

until i see that...just sounds like a bunch of whining/excuses from LeBron

those shirts are very tight, I can see why some players are bitching about them. If it restricts freedom of shot motion even slightly, they should get rid of it.

when I play with loose t-shirts my shot goes south 100 percent. Now imagine shirts that tight, in a competitive game? I knew there'd be problems like this

They can keep the shirts as an option for consumers wanting to wear a NBA team product casually and they can have the athletes wear them off court. But they ought to stick to the jerseys in game.

I don't see the problem, I am not an nba pro but these under armour type compression shirts aren't restrictive imo, they move quite naturally with the body. They don't have to be tight, if you look at tim duncan he sizes up

Problem is they rely a lot on muscle memory and mechanics and believe it or not, but having a tight ass piece of fabric on your arm is most likely going to effect that movement. Even if its just by fractions of a degree, shots go from falling, to not falling with that slight change.

Anyway, they are ugly as hell, and should be removed. People want to wear jersey out, they can wear a blank t-shirt underneath. Foot Locker, Champs has them for like 6-9 bux each, or go by a t shirt with your teams logo on it and call it a day.....

This is what I've always been saying. The NBA store already sells jerseys that aren't worn by players. They have the "fashion" jerseys which have sort of bronze like color even if bronze isn't part of any team's color scheme.

There are also the "electro" jerseys which have a yellow wordmark even on team's that don't have yellow as a color.

The league should just keep the sleeved jerseys for the fans or maybe bring them out on Christmas and the all star game. The league and adidas are going to butcher the Christmas day uniforms regardless of whether or not they have sleeves or not. Remember the "one color" jerseys last year? Might as well let them do a number on the sleeved jerseys since they are already ugly enough. Can't get much worse plus adidas gets to keep selling them and we only have to watch them for 1 or 2 days at the most. Win win all around.

Ridiculous superstition.

Goalies lose when they change their pads, blame them on the pads and muscle memory. Nope... just lost and the goalie is superstitious like all of them.

bang on post

you can also take a look at players who wear arm sleeves that remind them to keep their form intact while shooting.

They should really get into the christmas spirit and make them play in full length christmas pyjamas on Christmas day. It's a money maker - everybody buys pyjamas at Christmas.

The sleeved jerseys has EVERTHING to do with sponsorship logos. You can apply tons more crap on a sleeved t-shirt, then you can a wife beater jersey.

You will wear them, and you will like them. I am Silver, I am the new godfather of basketball.

I play in oversize baggy clothes. Then if some jackhole grabs my shirt, I still have room to stretch a shot at the rim for an And-1.
