CP3 is playing in western conference and I personally prefer Westbrook over CP3 [for the all star game]

if you looked at eastern conference guards list there are not so many names you want to put in that starting 5. Wade is not playing like an all star. Maybe Rondo, but I'm impressed with Felton's progress. He deserves all star consideration.

Damn. The star power in the East has really taken a dip.

Based on performance, if I was to choose the allstar teams for this season, I'd choose:

Paul
Kobe
Durant
Lee
Duncan

Parker
Curry
Westbrook
Harden
Randolph
Griffin
Howard

I think the West is 100% straightforward. Besides those 12 guys, I dont see anyone else near deserving compared to the ones listed. Maybe Ibaka and Aldridge are next in line, but I dont think theyve played as well as Griffin who has been supririsngly excellent on the defensive end for most of this season.

And then for the East:

Holiday
Wade
Anthony
James
Noah

Rondo
Pierce
West
Bosh
Smith
Lopez
Horford

The East is much harder to pick because of the lack of allstar performances. There are not a lot of G/F to pick after the starters. I dont think Chandler and George are playing at an allstar level either, and both Rondo and Pierce are playing subpar especially lately. I think all of the players listed below them are well deserving, and I think its unfair to David West that people think George deserves to make it over him.

Thanks. Yeah, now that Love broke his hand again, I'd take him out for Ibaka. Although Lee deserves it more than him, I think this is his 'Josh Smith' snub year. Also, he's already been to the ASG so it's not like he even has that new all-star smell going for him.

David Lee becomes the new injury addition if another guy goes down. (TD might choose not to play)

of course it is based on performance. so why we are keeping Wade on the starting 5? and where is Felton who is arguably one of the main reasons NYK is kicking ass? Where is M. Gasol?

Wade is the best SG in the East. And despite not having a Wade like year, hes still scoring 20 ppg on 50+% FG and near the same rebs/ast. Name someone who should start over him?

Felton? Really? He shoots under 40% and often held NY back because of his horrific shooting. He started the year well and then really tailed off. If you think he should be an allstar then your definition of an allstar is way off.

Gasol is one of my favorite players in the NBA, but he played far better last year. Hes not playing as aggressively on offence nor on the boards this season.

Well if you're looking to have classic 1,2,3,4,5 for East then Wade probably is the best 2 available. I was looking at the frontcourt and guards lists as they are. D. Will could play SG position very well having classic PG like Rondo or Felton beside him.

Felton should be considered for most improved player of the year. He's not there best shooter but he's the one controlling the tempo and he does it well. Because of his aggressiveness and ability to penetrate Novak and co. having so many open looks from 3.

You dismiss Wade, and then bring up DWill as a starter in the allstar game? DWade is playing a lot better than DWill, and 100x better than Felton. Teams give Felton open midrange shots because the guy just cant shoot. Any average PG whos usage rate is as high as Feltons would play well in the Knicks offence with Chandler screening for them and there being no help on the weakside because of the great 3 point shooters around him. Felton has been trash this year. Ask Knick fans yourself. Kidd has been better than Felton overall. Should he be an allstar too?

D-Will is trash. Felton has been better than him. But DWade is better than both and he will be voted in.

IMO Paul George should be picked by the coaches, he's improved a lot this year.

I wonder, does Stern have authority to block Jeremy Lin from the game? Him making it over CP3 or Nash would be a shame.

Nash doesn't deserve it. He was out too long. Absolutely Lin should be blocked from starting over CP3 however. Or if he does make whoever the coach is better bench him for the game after the first whistle.

Something needs to change. SMH

Jeremy Lin All Star? He Needs 50,000 Votes To Beat Chris Paul For Starting Spot - I Sports Times

Quote:
Jeremy Lin, meanwhile, is third in the western conference guards with 605,624 votes. He's trailing Chris Paul by about 50,000 votes.

The voting period ends on January 14th, and if Lin can overcome that 50,000 gap, he'll overtake Paul to start in the all star game alongside Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, and Kevin Durant.

Dwight doesn't deserve to start either. This is his worst season since his sophmore year in the NBA. Plus Lakers are not even .500.

Duncan should get the nod over Dwight. Why?

Minutes Per Game: Duncan 30 mins - Dwight 36 mins
Points Per Game: Duncan 17.7ppg - Dwight 17.4ppg
Rebounds Per Game: Duncan 9.6rpg - Dwight 12.0rpg
Assists Per Game: Duncan 2.6apg - Dwight 1.9apg
Blocks Per Game: Duncan 2.5bpg - Dwight 2.5bpg
FG% Duncan 51% - Dwight 56%
FT%: Duncan 81.2% - Dwight 51.1%
Record: Duncan 27-9 - Dwight - 15-17
