19 Aleksandar Pavlović - JJ Hickson
20 Dahntay Jones - Alexis Ajinca
21 Boris Diaw - Ryan Anderson
22 Zoran Planinić - Courtney Lee
23 Travis Outlaw - Kosta Koufos
24 Brian Cook - Serge Ibaka
25 Carlos Delfino - Nicolas Batum
26 Ndudi Ebi - George Hill
27 Kendrick Perkins - Darrell Arthur
28 Leandro Barbosa - Donté Greene
29 Josh Howard - DJ White

2nd Round
2003: Kapono, Luke Walton, Kyle Korver, Steve Blake, Matt Bonner, Mo Williams, Willie Green.
2008: Joey Dorsey, Mario Chalmers, Mbah a Moute, DeAndre Jordan, Weems, Goran Dragic, Semih Erden, Asik, Bill Walker.

The 2008 draft is better IMO, a lot of those guys have a great role in their franchise. And there are some great prospects
In the 2003 draft, the top 5 is fantastic (except Milicic) but the talent decrease rapidly with role players and bust.

Just discuss... thought?

2008 it was a pretty good draft, but not as good as 2003.

Yeah, the TOP 5 of 2003 is way better, but the level of 2008 is well-balanced.

Come on, Marcus Banks, Planinic, Brian Cook, Jarvis Hayes, Reece Gaines, Sweetney ??

Those guys are no long in the league lol

Every single player in the 2008 draft is at least a solid role player. 2003 is more star-studded, but 2008 is more deep.

In 5 years, there will be many of those 2008 guys out of the league too.... 2003 by far, even with Bosh in that draft.

In 5 years I see 3 guys out of the NBA in the 2008 1st round: Ajinca, Koufos, Alexander.
Thats it.
9 in the 1st round of 2003 (+ some garbage )

Not so easy to predict 5 years.

TOP 5 talented players in 2003 >>>>>>>>>>>>Top 5 talented players in 2008

2008 has a little more balance (decent to good players), while 2003 has more game changers/franchise players in their draft and probably more future HOF players.

top 10 talent wise (1st round):

2003

James
Wade
Melo
Bosh
Perkins
Kaman
Pietrus
Barbosa
Ridnour
Darko Miličić or Hinrich or West??

2008

Rose
Love
Westbrook
Mayo
Beasley
Lopez
Gallinari
Gordon
Hibbert
Batum or Hill

I'll take 2003 based on the top 5 alone

We'll see... It's too early to tell, I agree.
Maybe I made this thread because I hate the Heat ! Who knows...

But, There are some good bigs in 2008's.
Brook Lopez, Hibbert, McGee, Ibaka, DeAndre Jordan, Robin Lopez.
That's a lot of potential.
In 2003, besides the top 5 , that's limited...

This thread should've been named "I prefer the 2008 Draft rather than the 2003's one" my bad lol

03 draft looks amazing just because of 3 players :
James, Wade and Carmelo. Bosh is a very good player too, but not great. What else? Nothing special, few guys who are close to all-star : David West, Mo, Kaman. Several role players like Hinrich, Barbosa, Pietrus, J. Howard, Ridnour.

08, deep draft. A lot of overall talent. Rose, Westbrook playing like superstars already.
Mayo, Love, Gordon, B.Lopez, Beasley. Huge, still very young, major potential. And a few guys who can reach all-star level very quickly. Gallinari, Hibbert, Batum.

Different drafts. first one carrying few hall of famers, second one looks very balanced.

If you told Heat fans that they would eventually get 3 of the first 5 players from the 2003 draft at the same time and in their prime, they would look at you like you're crazy. Lucky bastards. Basically 3 out of the best 4 players if you're excluding Darko.

+1

Mayo, Love, Gordon, Lopez and Beasley have INCREDIBLE potential.

However, I still say some of those players have hall of fame potential like Rose, Westbrook, Love, Lopez etc. Those guys are the future of the NBA.

Also from the 03' draft, West, Mo and Kaman weren't close to all-stars, they all have reached the all star game once.

You guys are horribly undervaluing Milicic. The guy never got a fair opportunity to play and now that he is, he's beasting. His offense has gotten dramatically better since when he started the season and he is still one of the best shot blocker in the league.

2003 only has 4 good players.
2008 is stacked with at least 10 good players.
