Who would you want?

If we get the 3rd or 4th pick and we miss out on Irving and Williams, who would you want out of these players?

pzabby 04-22-2011 07:05 PM

id give the shot to kanter, more upside and since we already have bayless at pg and i dont see kemba amounting to much more, if any, take a chance on the centre and hope for another top pick next year. not necessarily 1,2,3 but rather 7, 8, 9. young players need to taste what it means to win so they can be hungy for it later on.

js12 04-22-2011 07:32 PM

Honestly, none of the above. No one really strikes out in this draft outside of Irving or Williams. Perhaps it's safer to trade the pick for a proven asset in the league.

finstock 04-22-2011 08:22 PM

Trying to reserve judgement until the workouts. Particularly interested in the center prospects measurements. Right now though, I'll vote Kanter.

Aamir 04-22-2011 08:34 PM

None of them look appealing at all for a 3rd pick. I guess I would go for Kemba.

halphbreedballer 04-22-2011 09:05 PM

If forced to choose I would pick Brandon Knight!

Why?

He scored in double figures in 35 of 38 games this season!

Second choice would be Jimmer Fredette.

I say that because of the way the NBA is structured a good scoring point guard is what every team needs...(We will have more options if Barbosa ops out)

We can't get an LBJ or Durant or even Kobe in this draft so draft small and talented...

FoldedLaundry 04-23-2011 12:12 AM

Kanter or Knight or just trade it

moremilk 04-23-2011 12:58 AM

toughness is our biggest need, I'd go for that byiombo or whatever his name is, he's supposed to be the next ben wallace. While #3 would be way to high in a regular draft, if he's that good of a defender/rebounder, he's worth it.

LightsOut 04-23-2011 01:40 AM

I hope Derrick Williams drops or something he's nice

RaptorsFan4Life 04-23-2011 08:06 PM

None of those choices. Bismack Biyombo.

Don't blame him, blame the talent of the draft...

We can be picking anywhere from #1 to #5. Biyombo isn't even projected to be picked within the lottery. Plus do we really want a 6'9 Center?

He's ranked #6 by Draft Express.

I see your logic though. I wouldn't choose him with our current pick, but if he remains unpicked later on in the draft, I wouldn't mind making a deal to try to get this guy.

Bismack has no offensive game, but has a huge wingspan and hustles hard.

Just saw him at 17 on another Mock draft. Either way, if we pick him and then on top of that BC isn't brought back......this team is fucked for years to come. Besides, as long as we stay in the top 3-4, no way would we pick him anyway. :suspicious:

Maybe later like you said, who knows.

RaptorsFan4Life 04-23-2011 08:45 PM

He is an athletic freak that can rebound, play defense and block shots a ton of shots (which we are trash at right now). His mass will allow him to play C, he's like 245 with 4.5% body fat. Very Ben wallace-esk but with more potential (he's only 18.).

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 04-23-2011 08:45 PM

Brandon Knight is my favorite prospect after Irving and Williams.

I don't think he will have too much trouble with size. Even though he's only 6-9, he has a freakish 7-7 wingspan. Should be high enough to swat bigs even without jumping.

ya and his standing reach is like 9ft 3".

Weight: 243 lbs.
Height (w/o shoes): 6'7.75"
Height (w/ shoes): 6'9"
Wing Span: 7'7"
Body Fat: 4.8%
Standing Reach: 9'3"

DraftExpress: 2011 Nike Hoop Summit: International Measurements

js12 04-23-2011 08:58 PM

9-3 wow.

Considering he's only 18 (at least that's what they say he is- there's a bit of speculation that he may be a few years older), he might still grow. Add a couple a few inches and maybe he can dunk by tip-toeing.

He still has a lot of ways to go though. Reggie Evans is like 2 times better than him on offence, which is saying a lot. He can't don much else but dunking the ball.
