Now that's a draft. First 10 picks are all franchise-changers.

I hope we can grab Barnes, and a second pick for Kobongo.

2 picks in the top 10
that can happen if we do what Cleveland did and take a massive contract for a pick... like Biedrins + lottery pick for a couple pieces (Kleiza?)

We should try and get the Bobkitties unprotected first before they realize how bad they will be next season.

Think MJ is a Bargs fan?

Diaw, Diop, unprotected first for Bargs, Barbosa.

Kabongo/Bayless/Caldy
DD/Kleiza
Barnes/JJ
Davis/Diaw
Val/Amir/Diop

We should draft Barnes or Marquis Teague next summer. Both would be great fits.

re: grabbing a second pick

The Clippers own Minnesota's 2012 1st round pick, and I think it might be unprotected.

B.C. should be calling the Clipps.

The Clippers never fail to fuck things up.

Looking at the prospects in 2012, all I have to say is I'm thrilled we drafted a solid Center this year. There really isn't a good Center that I can see. So if we drafted a PG or SF and needed a Center next year we'd be fucked. Now we have a young center and next year we can go after a wing player or guard.

I'm hearing rumblings that Andre Drummonds (a center, by the way ) may challenge the high school player rule by declaring for the draft because he will be in his 5th year of high school. If that is the case, this guy will be a top 3 pick, hands down.

Val or not, if he is there when we pick, he's our guy. Dude's got Amare/Dwight abilities.

Oh, and by the way, NBADraft.net has James McAdoo pegged as the next James Worthy.

This point has been raised in a couple of threads.

1 - As fans, none of us can know anything for sure.

2 - If we look at what other leagues have done, such as the NHL, then there is good reason to believe that the draft would still occur once the CBA is settled. Even if the whole season is cancelled, the CBA should be resolved by next summer. Both sides would be nuts to let it go longer than 12 months. When the NHL cancelled the 2004-05 season, they still held their draft. It was just delayed a few weeks, until the CBA conflict was eventually resolved.

3 - When the NHL held their draft after a full season was missed, they used the teams' records from the past 3 seasons to decide their chances in the lottery. If that's how the NBA decided the draft, the Raptors would have a decent chance of landing a good pick, since they are 95-151 over the past 3 seasons.

From RealGM:

Quote:
If there is no season at all and it goes straight to the draft... and assuming they use the records of the past 3 seasons to create the new draft lottery... It would be like this...

1. Minnesota
2. Sacramento
3. Washington
4. New Jersey
5. LA Clippers
6. Golden State
7. Toronto
8. Detroit
9. New York
10. Indiana
11. Philadelphia
12. Memphis
13. Charlotte
14. Milwaukee

Seeing this... i hope there's a shortened season.

Thanks for posting that, DK. If, as speculated, the draft is really deep, there should be good prospects available at 7-10. Having said that, I can see how a shortened season might lead to a more positive draft position.
