Top 10 High School Prospects (Torontonian #6)

These are players who will still be in high school after this year.

Quote:

6.) Andrew Wiggins, 6’7” 200, SF, Vaughan Secondary School, Toronto, Ont 2014- The Canadian is the son of former 1st round pick and 9 year NBA veteran, Mitchell Wiggins. The younger Wiggins is as smooth a wing prospect as you’ll find. He is an elite level athlete and makes jaw dropping plays around the basket. He has been called the great Canadian Hope and for good reason. He shows flashes of being a good jumpshooter and creator off the bounce, but those skills are in their developmental stages. There is no reason to think that those skills will not catch up with his elite athletic ability. According to various reports, he is rumored to be moving to the U.S. and enrolling in a high school in the fall. His upside is limitless and as he matures and gets stronger his game will go to new heights. NBA Comparison: Scottie Pippen

Wow, with Tristan Thompson, Myck Kabongo and Andrew Wiggins, maybe Canada will have a competitive team for the 2016 Olympics.

I played against this kid (it very may have been his brother, Mitchell Jr.) at the Pavilion like 2-3 years ago.

Blocked him on a dunk! It was tremendous.

That being said, crazy length and athleticism.

that isiah austin kid is ridiculous, if we got him and jonas as our frontcourt there will be no such thing as an easy layup against the raptors

I read about Wiggins in Maclean's last month. He was on some list of accomplished teenagers.

Loving all these new talent that should greatly improve the national team.

Just a week ago, Thompson and Joseph went in the first round. Still waiting for Kabongo and this kid! :yeah:

Superjudge 06-28-2011 09:34 PM

6'3.

I've spent my whole life guarding the biggest guy on the floor so I learned how to block well since I was like, 13-14.

Sauce can vouch for my prowess.

I go up for everything though so I've been dunked on more than enough times, never really cared though.

People never see me coming because I'm very deceptively athletic.

I like to consider myself the best fat baller on the planet.

Not recently. Didn't we lose all our games at the FIBA Tourney last summer after making for the first time in a few years? I don't think Canada Basketball qualified for Beijing?

Meh, looking forward to a better age for Canada basketball.
