The Raptors have the fifth pick. So, list your top five prospects.
1. Derrick Williams 2. Kyrie Irving 3. Jonas Valanciunas 4. Enes Kanter 5. Bismack Biyombo I'd be happy with any of those picks. |

Irving
Williams Kanter Knight Not sure. Probably one of Vesely or Valanciunas. Haven't seen either of their games. Brandon Knight has been one of my favorite prospect for a few months now. If the Raptors fell in the draft(like they did) he was one guy I was hoping would be there where the Raptors pick. |

kanter knight williams kemba if you asked me again in five minutes, i'd have it in a completely different order. although it extremely possibly that i'll be wrong, i think williams will be the dude on camera for his sad face reaction after being passed up. |

LOL Leonard? Really? James Johnson > Leonard ... doesn't make any sense at all to draft him.
This draft is lacking NBA-ready talent, so guys with high upside/potential are going to be the superior selection.. Leonard doesn't even come close to that. |

Since picking the top 5 means picking the draft order I'd go with this:
1. Kyrie Irving 2. Derrick Williams 3. Brandon Knight 4. Jonas Valanciunas 5. Enes Kanter TO trades Kanter/Bargs/Filler/2012pick for Ellis/Epke/2011pick. 11. Bismack Ok that trade is wishful thinking but I can dream and Bargs can have somewhere warm to play ![]() Bayless/JC Ellis/Barbosa DD/JJ Davis/Amir Epke/Bismack Last edited by DocHoliday99; 05-23-2011 at 08:26 PM. |

I get like this every year...if we're drafting 10th, I like 9 players. If we're 7th, I like 6 players. This year is no different.
I like: Williams Irving(2nd because I honestly question his ability to stay healthy for the long-term) Kemba Knight If I had to take a 5th. I guess I'd gamble and maybe take Biyombo or Kanter (to trade). I want one if the 2 PGs listed at 3/4, and while I prefer Kemba, I'd take either. So on draft night I'm hoping that there are no trades and Cleveland takes kyrie #1 and a big at #4 letting one if the two PGs slip to us. |

Sorry, I didn't clue into the intent of the thread. Raps need a better SF and C, and have an aging, injury prone PG.
1. Williams 2. Kanter 3. Irving 4. Knight 5. Walker Other than Kanter, the other bigs strike me as projects. Maybe I'd be happy with Valanciunas, if his contract issues are not a problem. Last edited by Beans; 05-24-2011 at 07:52 PM. |

That's not the point of the thread, though.
Pick your top 5 Raptor picks. I don't care about the other teams. If you can rank your top 5 picks for the Raptors, then it's guaranteed that one of them will be available when the Raptors pick at #5. I actually agree that Irving could slip. His conditioning isn't great, and he had an injury that could be an issue over the course of his career. Also, he'll probably never be considered among the top point guards of the league. (Rose, CP3, DWill, Westbrook, Rondo maybe Wall in a few years) In my opinion, the guys that have a chance to be considered at some point in their careers at the top 5 at their position are the international centers. I don't see any of the North American prospects as having that potential. Except possibly Derrick Williams, if he can make a smooth transition to SF. Bismack has the reach, explosiveness and mass to play C.
(We aren't going to get Irving or Williams so it's pointless to put them on the list) 1. Bismack 2. Knight 3. Walker 4. Jones V 5. Jimmer Fredette Last edited by RaptorsFan4Life; 05-24-2011 at 03:49 PM. |

Bargnani, Ajinca, Amir, Davis, Reggie, Dorsey are not centers. And I don't know too much about Bismack, but I still doubt he'll be an everyday center in this league. |

Jerry West is now consulting and part owner of the Warriors and wherever West goes he advocates for a center...If we drafted Kanter I would look for a trade there. I still believe that Kanter/Bargs/TPE for Ellis/2011 pick for Bismack would work well for both.
I think these 4 will be off the board: Williams, Irving, Kanter, Knight. I can't even guess what the Raps will do....I'm hoping Jonas goes so Knight or Kanter slips down but it seems he might be a year or two away and these teams need help now. That leaves Walker, Leonard, Burks and gambles with Bismack and Jonas as the top 5 left I would consider for the Raps. I'm hoping that the project BC was talking about doesn't mean Jonas - not that I don't like him but if he can't come over now..... Last edited by DocHoliday99; 05-24-2011 at 07:50 PM. |
