Pre draft workout dates announced

The Toronto Raptors will continue preparations for the 2011 NBA Draft by holding pre-draft workouts at Air Canada Centre.

The Raptors have four dates scheduled beginning Tuesday, June 7. The other workout dates are Wednesday, June 15, Thursday June 16 and Monday, June 20. Additional sessions will be announced as needed.

All of the Raptors’ pre-draft workouts will be held in the Adidas Practice Court, located on the third floor of Air Canada Centre. Media will be granted access towards the end of each session. . A representative from the Raptors’ basketball operations staff will be available for comment following each workout.

Making a Knight-Evans backcourt work likely won't be an issue.

Knight is expected to go no lower than fifth to Toronto, two spots ahead of the Kings in the first round.

Knight said he would work out for Toronto next week.

I don't think so. At least not live. They might post a video on Raptors.com but they traditionally do not broadcast the workouts.

Looks like Kemba impressed the staff.

“The definition of a point guard now is a little different (than it once was),” he said.

“I definitely see more points coming from the point guard spot than there used to be.

“The bigger the guard the better usually, but I think (Walker’s) got enough quickness, enough savvy, definitely enough basketball experience (to) get his shot off and still get the ball to the open man.”

It's funny though, Kelly said Knight is faster then Walker at running the floor and Walker is quicker with the ball in his hands. He also said that what they like about Knight over walker is his size and defense. When i saw the Jim Kelly interview tonight he looked and sounded more impressed with Knight. But like i said, if either is available at #5 we'll probably take him, if both are available i say they take Knight. I'd be happy with either of them at this point because beyond those two there isn't much left there for us to take.

Nope. I'd like to see them workout Lighty and maybe grab a 2nd round pick and take him if he's still available.
