He said if you were to start the draft at #5, and pretend 4 guys had already been picked, then then this draft class wouldn't look bad. Furthermore, Bilas thinks there will probably be at least 2 all-stars from this draft; it's just unclear who will become those types of players. There is talent with question marks. And pretty much every year has some questions marks, but this year a few of them will get selected higher, like Len. In drafts with more depth at the top, Len probably slips outside the top 5.

So, if Bilas is right, this could turn out to be like the 2011 draft, which was also supposed to be "weak". There will be some good talent available. A lotto pick is nothing to sneeze at, and if we get one in a trade, Jeffb can buzz off with his "this is a weak draft! We don't need a pick!" comments.
weaker drafts just separate the good GMs and scouting departments from the weak ones. people focus too much on picks 1-5 and forget about 6-60 when they label a draft.

After hearing about mclemore story it's not to root for him i was shocked to see the living conditions he and his family lived in. I just hope he is going to be smart with his money. Also hope he says no to family and friends when comes to money.

You only take of immediate family in my opinion otherwise your going to end up being like Antoine walker.

I'll watch, just because. Not a super interesting draft, but I suppose it's pretty cool that we really don't know who will go first overall.

I hope we move up and make a pick, would be cool to see us move into the lotto or even top five.

Raptors All-in-one Draft Thread

I'm off to bed but from now on just chuck all rumours relating to Raptors in this thread, purposely separate from the 2013 Draft Thread.

I'm off to bed getting keen for tomorrow morning, I hope we make some moves just for the excitement!!

Cross fingers this will be the last night I sleep knowing Bargs is on the squad.

DISCUSS!!!

Wakey wakey, Bargnani is still here! For now. Let's hope we have ample cap space after this offseason though!

Tony Mitchell, 6-9 forward, North Texas: "I think he's Shawn Marion. He's that good of an athlete. The problem is he falls in line with the Royce Whites of the world where they think they have everything under control. I mean, if you're the only NBA player in the Sun Belt, how is your team one of the worst in the league? Overall intelligence is a question, too. That's something we're digging into. You don't have to be a rocket scientist, but you have to have some innate intelligence. He just didn't have a good year."

For all we know Ujiri already has a deal in place for a certain player, and if that player is not picked up before, MU will pull the trade.
These kind of deals are usually, secret till the last second.

But those salaries really.limit us. Is just adding boozer enough to make a run? No
Destroys what little flexibility we have and he's not amazing.

no Bargs no boozer. i have no expectations. that way i cant be disappointed. i'll be watching the draft though. and if i get a nice surprise that would be awesome, if not then the team is what i thought it would look like going into the july 1 free agency.
