Default Mirotic Set Scoring Record At Under-20 European Tournament

Real Madrid forward Nikola Mirotic, chosen as the 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Rising Star, made history at the European under-20 Championships in Bilbao, Spain.

Mirotic, chosen as the tournament's MVP, led the Spanish national team to the gold medal and broke the competition's scoring record, averaging 27 points and 10 rebounds in 9 games.

He led Spain with 29 points and 11 rebounds to an 82-70 win against Italy in the title game on Sunday. Mirotic had done even better - 37 points, 8 rebounds - in the semifinals against Russia and helped Spain to finish the tournament unbeaten.

Mirotic is illegal at that level very good prospect. But let me praise the italian team for reaching the final, maybe italian basketball is not that bad.

He was projected to land to the Spurs but he went earlier to Houston at 23.

HAHA seems we're both wrong, looks like the Bulls nabbed the rights to Mirotic - great move IMO by the Bulls. Don't think they'll let him play over there long considering his high level of play.

Bulls want 20-year-old first-round pick to mature playing at a high level

|By K.C. Johnson, Chicago Tribune reporter

The Bulls officially announced the acquisition of Nikola Mirotic's draft rights from the Timberwolves once paperwork cleared the NBA league office Friday evening.

League sources said Mirotic's buyout from Real Madrid stands at roughly 2 million Euros. That number obviously is negotiable, but the plan for now is to keep Mirotic overseas for at least two or three seasons of his five-year deal. Bulls international scout Ivica Dukan has watched Mirotic, 20, for years and management projected him as a lottery pick talent whose long-term contract and buyout situation dropped him in the draft.
