Default irving injury problems?

After suffering a right toe injury in a December game against Georgia Tech, X-rays discovered Kyrie Irving has an extra sesamoid bone leading up to his toe.

Irving said that's what caused the injury to begin with.

Hey feet and toes have wrecked careers, mostly in 5s. Still for an undersized Pg who relies on speed this should be a concern. There was huge questions marks around the origin of his injury, and why it was taking so long to get back. IMO if enters this draft class, he was doing it to protect his ability earn a pay check. I think this guy should be avoided, sounds like an Oden at pg.

i dont think to the same extent but i do think he will be a guy who misses 10-20 games/season because of this. we might have to pick him if theres nothing left on the board.. for example, id still rather have irving than kemba or fredette. but if for ex barnes is on the board.. snap him up like a snapping turtle to a fish

Irving went on to acknowledge that he expected to be a top-5 pick in the NBA draft if he left, but said he would wait until the tournament ended before sitting down with the coaching staff and his family to determine his next step.
Irving Noncommittal About Future

Without Irving, hunt for top pick is not as interesting.
I am more and more inclined to trade our pick for Rubio

If Irving is out, that probably only leaves Barnes, Walker, Jones for us if that, depending on where we end up in the lottery. And Barnes is probably a long shot unless we get a top 2-3 pick. If we end up with the 5-6th pick or worse i'd also be inclined to move the pick, maybe for OJ Mayo or Rubio? Or maybe you trade someone off the roster with the pick and get both.
