Ford: Raps not sure about Walker

Quote:

Teams said Knight was considerably more reserved than Walker, but they came away impressed with his maturity. The Jazz should be the first team on the board to give them a look. The Raptors, Kings and Bobcats are also in the mix. If the Jazz pick a point guard, I think Knight is slightly ahead on their board. Sources said if Knight slips to No. 5, the Raptors are likely to snag him there and there's no way he slides past the Kings at No. 7, I'm told. Walker's stock is still a bit more fluid. He'll get a look at Utah, Toronto and Sacramento, but I'm told none of those teams are all the way on board with him yet.

Texas forward Tristan Thompson quieted some critics with his measurements on Friday. He, much like Williams, was seen as an undersized power forward. His measurements (nearly 6-9 in shoes, 7-1 wingspan and 9-foot standing reach) were nearly identical to Derrick Williams. He also nailed the interview process according to several NBA team sources. His window starts with the Raptors at No. 5. The Pistons, Bobcats, Bucks, Jazz and Pacers are also all seriously interested. He looks like he's a lock for the lottery.

I'd draft Knight with the 5 without a doubt.
We should trade Bargs, barbosa and reggie evans for hassan whiteside and number 7

From what I've seen and heard I'd love it if Knight slipped to 5 for us.

Considering that the salaries are off by about 15 million and Reggie isn't under contract that's going to be a tough one to pull off.

shadoweagle19 05-24-2011 04:48 PM

yea didnt think about that...

creative1mm 05-24-2011 05:30 PM

I wouldn't take kemba, he is like a shorter version of bayless, knight is more pg then him

Well, we still have the TPE - not that I'm suggesting we try this trade....just saying

I would take Kemba, Can create his own shot. Lovely movement of his feet with the ball huge acceleration. Only problem is a Shooting Gaurd mentally but lacks the size and length. Still he'll be a solid player of the future liken him to a Barbosa in his prime.

How can we trade Reggie when by all rights he is no longer a Raptor?

fk24 05-25-2011 01:23 AM

I like the leadership he may be able to bring.

Admiral 05-25-2011 05:35 PM

You might be on to something

Shifty.py 05-26-2011 08:46 AM

Does remind me of Lou Williams as well.
But Knight while not as athletic is already a better PG than Lou.

Now Kemba is just like Aaron Brooks, and not the career year kind

I'd still take Aaron Brooks before I take Lou Williams.

i would too, but neither of them are the PG for a championship team

BballWatcher 05-27-2011 11:24 PM

I'd take Kemba Walker in a heartbeat. He's a great point guard and will be a solid pro. While his assists and FG% are a little bit low, he gets to the line a lot, and is a proven winner.

I don't get how people went nuts for Jonny Flynn and yet are only lukewarm on Walker!!
