no thanks to Biyombo... if you want another PF get Thompson. Almost as good defensively with 3x the offensive game

I've watched the videos and I simply don't believe Biyombo is 18 years old. He looks to be in his early twenties at least.

you should see a pic of his from 2-3 years ago... he looked young. There is no way the guy is over 20

Biyombo grew about half an inch between measurements at the Hoop Summit and the Euro camp, which leads me to believe those X-rays were genuine. A lot of people get the wrong impression because he seems so wise and mature. In this case, maybe a DUI would help his stock.

The Reggie comparison is interesting. Reggie's rebounding helped the Raptors compete on
the boards and get more second-changes, but I don't think he made them any more competitive. Two big issues for Reggie: 1) He is not particularly good on defense, 2) His offense is so bad that you're playing 4 vs 5.

Biyombo would be slightly different in that he is a strong rebounder and a good defender. In particular, he's a good weak-side defender, which is where the Raptors have been exceptionally weak.

He's a C, not a PF. (well he can play C anyways, he has a standing reach that is tall as or taller than most starting Cs in the NBA and he has a lot of bulk/strength) Based on your comment I would have to believe you haven't read or seen much on him.

looks like a good hustler.
Love to see what the Raptors coaching team could do with this guy.

I'd rather see the Raps get a strong wing defender with some offense (like Leonard could be), than a rebounder that can play defense.

Though an inside stopper is going to have to be added at some point.

Default Knicks Interested In Trading Up For Biyombo

Quote:
The New York Knicks have expressed interest in moving up in the draft to acquire Bismack Biyombo, the raw Congolese shot-blocker.

An 18-year old center who exploded onto the scene after a dominating performance in the Nike Hoop Summit in April, Biyombo has quite a few interested suitors.

The Knicks would likely have to move ahead of Golden State at No. 11 to acquire him, while teams as high as Toronto at No. 5 are bringing him in for last-minute workouts.
