Last year we played our best basketball when bargniani was paired with reggie evans in the frontcourt. From what I understand about this guy he is like reggie with better defense and worse offense.

I don't get where he would fit in the rotation though. If he is going to come off the bench I don't see him having that big of an impact on the Raptors D.
I agree..
and isn't he 6'9, what position is he going to play?
you have Ed Davis, Amir, and now this dude...

Draft Knight if available otherwise Kawhi Leonard already with the 5th pick, the more I read about Kawhi the more seems like a good fit for this team - perimeter defense and rebounding and he has more upside in the offensive end as well.
Biyombo more like one way player for me, I am not too sure how good he will be against the NBA centers as he will defiantly will not be able to physically push over likes the DWIGHT HOWARD, AL HORFORD, ANDREW BOGUT, JOKIM NOAH, ANDREW BYNUM, EMKA OKAFOR, and NENE of the NBA like he did in Europe ?
Besides center position is the hardest to learn in the NBA and it takes a lot of experience. I say go through the trade route or free agency to fill the center position as we want to see more wins next season.
How does this make us better us a team?
Toronto - 5th, TPE, Barbosa
Detroit - 8th, Hamilton and their 2nd rounder (#3x) that Raptors owed work?
How does Hamilton fit in this team? Not to mention he will not be happy coming off bench for a 22 win team!!!!!!!
There is a reason no team wants him, they also wants a draft pick from Mo town!
Now if we are getting a deal for Hamilton along something along this line and he is willing to come off bench then I am all for it!!!
Toronto – Barbosa, Kleiza + filler or Jose + Barossa
Detroit – 8th + Hamilton + filler
This is a fair deal as both team benefits, giving up 5th overall pick for Hamilton – I Say No Thanks!
a. Detroit shed salary and gets a past fist PG with Jose and gets expiring in Barbosa
b. Detroit gets former 6th man of the year who will come off the books next year and Kleiza who is a good back up when healthy with a manageable contract

No, but I can say that about any player really beyond 2 (maybe).

I really don't see anything that special in Leonard. Any other year he's a late first, 2nd round pick.

Biyombo as well, but his ceiling is a lot high than Leonard's etc. Considering that we may need a big man in about a few years, I'll take a chance on that in a bad draft.

As for acquring another pick. If we have to give up anything of value, I'd say screw it.

See I'd much rather take a chance on an athletic wing or PG then a Big and that goes for any dtaft. Center's are a crap shoot in good draft years.

Depends on the draft. This year, there's not a wing player or PG that really interests me. Next year, sure.

And yes, Center's ARE a crap shoot. However, when you get one, they're a valuable commodity (up there with PG's). Think about the contenders and they're C position.

They're hard to acquire or cost a ton in FA. Might as well take a flyer in a weak draft and try to hit the jackpot.

See I feel that way about the Bigs in this draft. Besides Biyombo has practically come out of nowhere the last 6 months. He's not that well known so it makes little sense to me to take that kind of risk with out pick. The one problem about this draft is everyone is saying we should ort will take someone different. Nobody has a clue which means we're gonna have to get lucky.

You guys need to check out biyombo's nike summit highlights. he is really light on his feet and he is an amazing shot blocker. he's only 18 (at the time of the summit) and he has natural talent since he only started playing basketball at age 15....

Biyombo can step in and be Joel Anthony for us immediately.

The only difference is Biyombo has a 7'7 wingspan, has the body of a grown ass beast and has crazy hops and defensive aggressiveness.

At this point, I just want someone who's gonna bust their ass on the court.

BTW he's only 6'7" - 6'8". No way he'll play Center.

At the Nike hoop summit he was measured at 6'7"3/4 and 243 at 4.8% bodyfat

At the Addidas euro camp he measured at 6'8"1/3 at 245 and 4.2% bodyfat

* Now not sure if that's with shoes, but that's undersized for an NBA Center for sure.

THAT BODYFAT % IS SICKENING!!

Yeah, I'm really worried if we draft him he won't be able to adjust to the C position in the NBA...

I swear you might aswell play Ed Davis there, he's 6'11 isn't he?

Ed Davis is not a C. He is a PF and he is 6 10. Now he can turn out to be Ben Wallace for us but i highly doubt it.

The New York Knicks have expressed interest in moving up in the draft to acquire Bismack Biyombo, the raw Congolese shot-blocker.

An 18-year old center who exploded onto the scene after a dominating performance in the Nike Hoop Summit in April, Biyombo has quite a few interested suitors.

The Knicks would likely have to move ahead of Golden State at No. 11 to acquire him, while teams as high as Toronto at No. 5 are bringing him in for last-minute workouts.

Coaching can't do shit without personal and we aren't going to get any amazing def vets to come here that are better than Bismack.
