I'll wait till he plays a bunch games in the NCAA before I'm convinced or uncertain about Wiggins. I can't say that I like the fact that he appears to be disinterested. But, I'm sure guys like LeBron or KD, Iverson anyone, coasted through a practice game. His coach may also be trying to motivate him to be even better by stating he's not one of his best players. Even if that's not the case, he's in his first month as a college level player and is in reality still a kid. I'd expect other players on Kansas who have more experience to be "better", at this point.

Also, just wanted to point out that this thread isn't really Raptor related.

Wiggins is just playing average on purpose because MU said we would draft him anyways

His dad stymies him with old man moves and he hasn't learned how to beat those yet.

ESPN really has become the FOX NEWS version of sports. They are attention whores who write bullshit articles just to create hype and to become trending on twitter. First NYK winning 35 games, then the Kobe 25th rank on their NBA rank, and now this. Gotta be outlandish and go completely against fact to get people talking.

nyk prediction is not made by espn, it's a statistical projection, right or wrong as it may be. Kobe at 25th is probably based on the estimate of missed games this season, if I recall, rose was ranked pretty low last season too. Their stated goal is to rank players expected production in the upcoming season, not necessarily who's the best (although, to be fair, I wonder how many of those 100 or so participants actually read and and followed the rules ...).

as far as this wiggins shit, it's not even an article as they claim, it's just some guy's blog post.

It might not be fair to judge Wiggins off of a preseason practice. Wiggins will have plenty of time to prove he belongs at the top of the draft before the draft next year.
ya think?

didn't someone question his effort level in high school, then he had that monster game

wiggins just isn't selfish with the ball he would rather play team ball, that's just his nature, its not a bad thing at all,

guys like wiggins and Thompson are the first Canadian hockey player types to ever playin the nba besides well steve nash, they take that team first, its whe with these guys not I lebron

he's not a lebron james level prospect, but the hype has been about the same. at this point there's no way he lives up to the hype but that doesn't mean he won't be a fantastic player and a superstar. personally i see him more as a durant type of player than LeBron but that's just me.

hm, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss durant as a second tier superstar compared to james, remember the guy is still only 25 I think, a few more years until he hits his prime.

I'm sorry but it's very doubtful Wiggins will be like LBJ. Remember, LBJ arguably has no weakness and in addition to being the best player in the world is the best overall player in the world. Not to mention he can play practically any position. So, yeah, he may become more like KD than LBJ.

I think he's saying more top 50 all time than top 10.

ok, but if wiggins turns out to be top 50 all-time that would be amazing!?

and not sure about durant yet, but he will certainly finish WELL inside top 50 if he continues putting up numbers like he is. He's just had statistically one of the best seasons ever, the youngest guy to do the 50-40-90 and with a sick ppg, awesome achievement.

And he's a much more all-round player than some people seem to think imo. Decent defender, good rebounder, upped his apg last season too, good team-mate, leader. exceptional player.

ESPN running Wiggins smear campaigns, just in case the Lakers do not get a top 5 pick next summer.
