Default Draft Profile:Terrence Jones

Birthday: 1/9/92
NBA Position: Small Forward
Class: Freshman
Ht: 6-8
Wt: 244

Strengths: A talented lefty wing forward with tremendous versatility. Can play the 1-through-4 position at the HS and college levels … Handles the ball like a guard and is comfortable breaking down opponents and taking the ball off the dribble from the perimeter at 6-9 … Shows the ability to score in a variety of ways, using both his size and athleticism to get to the rim as well as knocking down mid-range shots. Very polished … Despite an ugly form, has good touch on his shot … Clever at making moves in the paint. Finishes well around the basket … Strong transition player … Great vision and passing skills … Has a mature body with good strength and excellent length … Plays with a solid motor, competitive nature … Does a good job of drawing fouls by forcing the issue and initiating contact around the basket … Strong on the boards, particularly crashing the offensive glass …

Weaknesses: Form on his jumpshot is extremely unorthodox and could use some adjustment. He brings the ball across his body before he shoots it and doesn’t square his elbow to the rim … His lack of a fundamental shot means it breaks down the further from the basket he shoots … Explosiveness and footspeed is good but not extraordinary … Must become more mature emotionally. Can get down on himself if things don't go his way and lose focus ...

Notes: A consensus top 20 recruit out of high school … Was a 6-3 freshman when he began his high school career before growing 6 inches, but retains a lot of the playmaking skills that he honed growing up as a PG …

Jones is having a great year at Kentucky so far. Fun player to watch.

He's what this team is lacking. Another guy besides Jose who can handle the ball and create for himself, and others. He's great in transition, can play D, good on the glass and 100x better than Kleiza. He reminds me of Lamar Odom.

He reminds me more of Earl Clark than Odom. Ergo, I'm not sold on him... yet.

They'll need a high pick. If they start climbing in the standings again, I won't cry over Harrison Barnes. I like that his stock has fallen on draft boards.

If we get the 3rd pick
we should be able to get him easily
and with our Miami pick we could possibly choose canadian boy Tristan Thompson

I want players who want to win. I don't care about potential, I want fire, emotions, heart. Players who know what it takes to win games/championship.
This type of players can't be a bust.

Terrence is nothing but heart
Every shot he contests
and every shot he takes is a smart shot

He'll almost certainly make himself eligible. And his game is better suited for the NBA.

I think terrance is the bust of the lottery this year. I just dont see the athleticism and effort it takes to succeed in the nba. For instance take a look at how far BELOW the rim almost all of his shots are released at. I dont know if he is just a horrible jumper or is lazy but hes gonna have a lot more trouble getting his shot off in the NBA.
I think he would be the worst pick in the top ten if he goes that high but his stock has been falling and will continue to. I dont see him doing welll in the combine.

I don't know, I'm starting to think that Harrison Barnes is the BPA at SF. His athleticism and length are world class, and he has a high skill level.

Agreed, just don't say it too loud. If Reggie and Barbosa come back soon, we may end up climbing to 5th or 6th pick again. Hehas not been showing what he can do.

I like this guy. A strong athletic SF with no major flaws on either side of the floor. And I think he is NBA ready, no use in drafting a "potential" guy at this point.
