Strengths: A point guard with amazing speed, his quickness and ability to change direction make him the player he is ... Slick with the ball in his hands, Walker has great potential if he's able to fix a few flaws in his game ... His shot isn't fully there yet, however it improved dramatically from his freshman year to his sophomore year ... He's become a better spot up shooter, and his pull-up jumper off the dribble is what will propel him to become and effective guard at the next level ... Doesn't have consistent range yet, but he has a smooth and fluent motion, leaving the door open to hitting 3 pointers in the NBA ... Has a good feel for the pick and roll, an important quality to be successful in the pros ... He's very effective getting into the paint, which not only opens up opportunities for himself, but his teammates as well ... For his size (5'11), he finishes pretty well around the rim ... He's explosive, and has a quick first step ... His aggressive nature enables him to shoot 6 free throws per game ... He has above average vision with the ball, showing the ability to hit the open man, open up the floor, or thread the needle ... Defensively, he plays in your face on the perimeter, and his quickness allows him to keep his man in front of him ... His athletic ability and defensive awareness get him 2 steals, which illustrate his ability to read passing lanes ...

One month into the 2010/2011 season, there isn't a more productive player in all of college basketball than UConn junior Kemba Walker.

The New York City native took the Maui Invitational Tournament by storm last week, helping his team win the event with shocking upsets over the likes of Michigan State and Kentucky. Walker scored 90 points in 99 total minutes to take home MVP honors and officially stake his claim as the top point guard in college basketball. His production speaks for itself right now, as he currently ranks as the No. 1 scorer in the NCAA, and No. 2 in PER.

no one seems to be talking about the guy who lead his team to wins over Michigan State and Kentucky and is leading the country and scoring

29.1 ppg, 4.3 apg, 5.6 rpg, 2.1 stls

Someguy again 12-08-2010 09:57 AM

at the rate we're playing we could be number 7 - 13 in the draft, this kid could be a steal

nPOY so far. What a year he is having for UCONN.

I usually don't start watching college ball until February, but I am going to try and catch a UConn game sometime soon and check this kid out.

No he struggle against them for a while. He hit the GW shot in OT but Texas played him pretty good.

He finished with 22points but shot 8-27 from the field. Did have 9rebounds though but only 1assist with 4TO.

Walker is a scary prospect. A lot of great tools at the next level, blazingly quick, great first step and great ball handling skills, knows how to pick and roll well. Except for the fact he is undersized and he seems like a score first guy. I'm not sure about how his game translates at the next level.

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 01-17-2011 05:41 PM

Just hit another GW shot. This time against Nova. It was 59-59 and he hit a floater with 2.2seconds left.

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 01-22-2011 02:54 PM

Double team at the end of the first half and hits the 3 still. Gives his team a 1point lead going into half. The dude is CLUTCH

TooStrong 01-22-2011 04:38 PM

Raps don't need him. Raps need pass first PG.

Not like I haven't said it before, but I hope he's long gone by their pick... in the form of him being a Raptor!

What would be funny is if we draft Walker and MJ calls up Colangelo for a trade, then BC denies it because of the cancelled Jose trade last minute.
