Lillard has also done a better job of taking care of the basketball thus far, cutting his turnover rate almost in half from previous seasons. This is quite an impressive feat, considering his heavy usage and how much his team depends on him to create offensively. To illustrate that, he actually ranks #1 amongst all NCAA point guard prospects in terms of turnovers per possession, coughing the ball up on just 10% of his possessions.

The large emphasis of the pick-and-roll game in today's NBA bodes well for Lillard, as he's shown to be very effective as the ball-handler in pick-and-roll situations. His ability to smoothly pull up off the dribble from deep range makes it difficult for his defenders to go underneath the screen, while his burst off the dribble allows him to turn the corner quickly and get into the paint.

Lillard does a good job of playing at different speeds and is capable of driving in either direction, which keeps defenders on their heels and helps him get to the free throw line at a very strong rate. Once there, he knocks down an excellent 90% of his attempts.

Sounds a lot more like Calderon than Bayless. A more athletic, defensively sound Calderon is studly.

Sounds like Steph Curry.

Can shoot from anywhere, will only give you 5-6 assists. This guys sounds like he's a better defender though.

This guy looks interesting...I wouldn't mind if the Raps draft him if they end up with a later lottery pick

Some mock drafts have Raptors selecting Lillard now. Not sure if I'm happy or frustrated with that possibility.

Tony Wroten Jr is the best PG in the draft and he'll be selected outside the lottery spots

I really like this comparison. Watched a lot of him this year and he seems to have a lot of Steph Curry in his game. Ball handling, can change direction easy, quick release with his shot, can shoot from almost anywhere, smart with the ball (even though he took some bad shots in some games this year, probably because there was nobody else to do the scoring), can find his teammates, can attack the basket and finish, quick to get up and down the court but still plays very controlled, pretty athletic but his game is not dependent on athleticism

It's the kind of player Casey has said he's looking for. A player like that could really help this team make a jump and build on the gains from last season. If he works out as desired of course. I'd say it's worth a shot.

I'd throw up in my mouth if we drafted him. We have enough athletic G/F that don't understand how to play, or shoot a, basketball. And this one's a headcase and reported awful in the locker room as well. Pass.

which is why he'll be drafted outside the lottery.
but the guy has the best vision/passing and ability to go to the basket amongst all the PG's (though this years crop of PGs isn't good). He's raw with some parts of his game and stubborn but if a good franchise (aka not the Raptors) takes him, he could be useful.

more of a value pick.

Agreed on bolded, but I think it's a long shot he turns it around. I also don't think his vision/passing is better than Marshall.

The only problem I see with Lillard-Curry comparison is that he played in a weak competition. Same with Steph Curry but I think teams gameplanned more for Curry than Lillard

not interested, still skeptical, obviously haven't seen him, its just the fact that he plays for a mid major, there has been a ton of great mid major scorers who cnat play in the nba

i guess relying on management to make the right decision, if they select him i won't be to upset

Maybe, I don't know, I'm just spit ballin here, watch him? Research him? Do anything in order to form an opinion other than think "I've seen some guys from small schools fail" and be done?

A few years ago another player who many people said couldn't play PG full time in the nba saw a dramatic rise in his draft stock and was drafted quite high. He's really good these days in the nba. the last 3 letters of his last name are ook.

Had to look up that one, solid riddle.

I don't see much Westbrook in Lillard. Wroten maybe, but I think Lillard is more of a Mo Williams or Jameer Nelson kind of player with his outside shooting ability.
