If his defence is what LX makes it out to be, i'm sold. Though really sg isn't our problem right now is it, and with equally talented sf on the board, and lots of them, i doubt we pick him up.

Rivers and Duke season ended in a upset in the first game vs #15 seed Lehigh. Not good at all!

Rivers did have 19points in the loss.

Austin Rivers is leaving Duke after just one season.

The 6-foot-3 freshman will sign with an agent and forgo his remaining eligibly, multiple sources told CBSSports.com.

Rivers, the son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, averaged 15.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists this past season in Durham.

Rivers, according to multiple NBA executives, is expected to be a lottery pick in June's NBA Draft.

The Blue Devils could also lose junior forward Mason Plumlee early. Plumlee has yet to make a decision, but is expected to do so next week.

Duke was upset in the round of 64 in the NCAA tournament last week to Lehigh. Rivers scored 19 points in the loss.

He's not that impressive really, if you could get a late pick and grab em sure, but other than that, not really worth it.

Going to Duke might have been the worst decision by Rivers. Just didn't fit his game style, he will be better in the NBA.

Undersized scoring two guard who can't create for his teammates well or run a team, struggles with shot selection...

Am I talking about Rivers or Bayless?

There is NO DOUBT Austin Rivers gets to the basket as well as or better than anyone coming out of the college ranks in recent memory.

The kid is a winner, a shooter and a slasher who showed the ability to run an offense, even with low assist numbers.

He is more like Steph Curry with a better handle and not as good of outside shooter.

If Rivers is available, we're CRAZY to pass on him.

I'd take Beal over Rivers...

Cuz theres nothing Rivers can do that he can't? Beal seems to have a better shot too. I think he'll be a better player than Rivers to start and in the long run.

Winner? Like lead your team to a first round exit against a 15 seed winner? I don't know what games you were watching that led you to believe he showed he can run a team.

Curry led a much less talented team much deeper in the tournament. There's very little comparison to be had there.

Curry also led an older team through the tournament - and was one of the best shooters to ever play in the tournament. Honestly, I don't know that it was actually that much less talented to be honest, this Duke team is a disappointment (and you can't call them a 'more talented team' based on their star ratings, team play has to figure in)

You have to remember, Duke was awful offensively this year and Rivers was great down the stretch. The idea that Lehigh was actually a 15 seed is laughable, while on paper it was 2 v 15 - you have to agree that was a mis seed.

It was actually a miracle that Duke was a #2 seed as bad as they played as a team down the stretch with Mason Plumlee colossal flop the second half of the season.

Just being Devils advocate (pun intended)- I'm ok with Beal too, I just think he and Rivers are even with neither having an advantage.
