Default Draft Profile: Alec Burks

I really like this dude's game. If we fall in the lottery - or even not - he deserves a look IMO. Yes, he's a SG, but unlike Demar, he's extremely smooth. Handles the ball well enough to spell time at the point a la Brandon Roy. And also like Roy, he seems to be a jack-of-all-trades: good shooter, ball handler, decent athlete and bball IQ.

Check him out:

its close to his body and he barley handles the ball in those videos, so I dont see how you can come to that conclusion

his dribblings too high. the fact that its close to his body makes it a little better but you just CANNOT dribble tht high up if ur a shooting guard who penetrates.

Actually, the ability to maintain a high dribble is a strength, not a weakness. And in the video, there's no example of him penetrating other than a fast break hoop, so I don't know what you're citing. It's almost exclusively displaying his perimeter game.

In any event, he's scored over twenty points in all 4 games this year, and is averaging 10 FTA a game and only 1.5 TOs.

Not bad at all.

Needs to get stronger, but I like his versatility.

Huge game today. 33 points, 9 boards in leading the Buffs to a come from behind victory versus Texas.

He just measured 6'6 in shoes, with a 6'10 wingspan. Some team is going to end up with a very niiice SG prospect.

i agree, a very good sg prospect. I wouldn't mind the raps taking him if he's slated as being the bpa after workouts/combine, yes even with derozan here. I feel DD will easily be interchangeable 2-3 when he bulks up plus barbosa is injury prone and may npt even be here after a lockout

wright's dog shit, weems looked like dogshit two thirds of the season. I'd take a flyer on him

Take Burks, slowly nurture him on the bench and see if he can develop a 3 point shot. Then play him with Derozan if he plays well.
