Canada Crowd chants "USA" and "Overrated" at Wiggins

Quote:
As the 300 students from Walnut Hills began taunting the nation’s top-rated player with “overrated” and “U-S-A”, the Canadian elevated his game and finished with 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead Huntington Prep to a 61-54 win over the Cincinnati school in front of 3,000 fans during the first day’s final game at Boyd County Middle School.

“That motivates me to play better and that’s what happened,” Wiggins said. “As soon as they started talking, that’s when I started playing better — hitting my shots and everything. Them getting involved was bad for their team.”
I love it. Hopefully Wiggins demands a trade to the Raptors, it's only fair after all the years of Americans refusing to play for Toronto and Vancouver.

Gotta love the kids confidence too.

The fact that he's already playing under pressure and fan taunting is gonna make him even better.

Ignorant Americans. If he would have been from Europe of Africa, and the crowd would have started chanting USA at him, national media would have been all over it.

I think he originally got held back a year and was supposed to graduate high school in 2 years, but he reclassified to 2013 and will hopefully be in March Madness 2014

I'm actually happy Wiggins committed to Canada. So many players before him passed. I like that so many of these young guys want to play for their country. It's going to be fun to watch Canada basketball grow.

ON POINT Episode 6 - "HUNTINGTON HOPEFULS" - YouTube

Documentary on Wiggins and Huntington Prep. Lots of talk about Canadians going down to the States to play.

That's awesome. I was just going to say that I don't care where he ends up playing.... as long as he suits up for the red & white.
