Default Is Zach Randolph as good as Chris Bosh?

ok, its been a really slow Wednesday morning...
so iam gonna try and stir something up...

a while back (last year) Zack Randolph had this to say about chris bosh:

Quote:
‘I’m better than Chris Bosh’, Randolph said in New York for a game with the Knicks Wednesday. And when told that what he said will make headlines, he said, ‘I’d tell his to his face’.
LINK>>Clippers' Forward Zach Randolph says He is Better than Chris Bosh

Their stats for this year:

Bosh : 24.4 ppg 11.4 rpg (def: 8.4 off:3.0) 2.3 apg 1.0 bpg

Z-Bo : 20.4 ppg 11.6 rpg (def: 7.3 off:4.3) 2.1 apg 0.4 bpg

lets start at the defensive end...they both suck...period...the only difference is that Randolph plays beside a great defensive center, so we dont see his flaws as much....

offensively, Randolph is great, but Bosh is much better. But they both play different style of basketball...Bosh is more of a face-up guy, while Randolph is a back to basket guy and comparing the ppg is a little misleading, because Triano has a lot of plays for Bosh while Z-Bo doesnt get that many touches in Memphis...

rebounding wise, IMO Randolph is a better rebounder, because he gets slightly more rebounds(especially on the offensive board) then Bosh while playing alongside Marc Gasol, who averages 10 rebounds himself...

but heres the thing that has really set them apart in the past years, CHARACTER. Bosh, throughout his career has been known for being a nice guy, while Randolph has been known for his problems with the law and his team mates...

But this year Randolph has changed all that and even made the allstar team...
so he puts up similar stats as bosh, does many things what Bosh does ( play bad defense, grab rebounds, ect) and has changed the way he handles himself...

So what really is the the difference between him and Bosh this year?

Randolph is having a very good season, but he isn't anywhere near as talented as Bosh. This is too funny!

bosh doesn't suck defensively. randolph does.

i think the major difference between the two is that teams spend time preparing to face bosh. i doubt the same can be said about randolph. he's been a 20+ point scorer for a while now, yet he's never been instrumental to the outcome of a game.

i will add that Bosh is way more efficient because he gets to the line like a guard

i agree that Bosh gets to the line at will but a lot of our offense is run through him...but thats not the case for z-bo, because he has mayo and gay in the backcourt who are trying to get their own shot..

When the best line-up needs to be put on the floor to finish games, Bosh is on the floor. When Stan Van Gundy (a defensive minded coach) wanted to finish out a close All-Star Game, he put out Rondo-Wade-Lebron-Bosh-Howard. When Coach K wanted finish out close games to win Olympic Gold, he put out Kobe-Wade-Lebron-Bosh. In the prime of his career, Bosh is considered one of the best in his position.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Bosh has also won a bunch of games for us this season (and last season) with clutch jumpers, drives, rebounds and defensive plays.

Has Zach done ever done this for ANY of his teams?

You realize that both Zach and Bosh get the same number of shot attempts right?

That's because Bosh goes to the line more. Randolph's usage rate is lower than Bosh's (Mayo, Gay, and Randolph all share the ball pretty evenly).

Fact is they both are bad at defense.

Zach gets more steals, Bosh more blocks.

Bosh gets to the line more.

Both shoot the same amount of shots, Bosh a higher FG%

Randolph rebounds better, even playing beside a better rebounder than Bosh does

Huh? You lost me there..... Bosh and Zach avg about 16.5 FGAs/gm.... how does "usage rate" make a difference?

A shot attempt is a shot attempt.... no matter which way you cut it.

snooch, do you even watch basketball?

ToRap - Bosh taking a shot that leads to free throws doesn't effect his shot attempts unless he's made the bucket and going plus one.

Z-Bo loves to grab his own rebound and shoot again. His shots come from less possessions.
