Default You build the Raptors

BC has said that the Raps have $23M to spend this summer.

The following will be left on the roster at the end of the year:

Bargnani/O'Bryant
Bosh/Humphries
No SF
Kapono
Calderon/Banks/Ukic

What would you do?

According to Ford, the following are/could be available.
Chad Ford: Looking ahead to the free-agent class of 2009 - ESPN

If Marion can be had for just over the mid level, say $7M and Iverson could be had for the mid level ($5-6M), the raps would have one of the best starting 5 in the league. And, they'd have $10M left to fill up the bench. They get Joey for $3M, Parker for $3-4M, and still have $3M plus the mid level to go out for a good back-up big.

Number1, why would iverson want to play for the raps, secondly, why would he accept 5-6 mill?

I'm not very serious about this idea....just posting it for some debate.

To the T'Wolves:
- Bosh
- Kapono

To the Raptors:
- Jefferson
- Miller

Then move Marion in a sign-and-trade for a balanced starting 3 who can defend. Not sure exactly who would be right or which salaries would be most appropriate....obviously that depends on what Marion will be able to get contract wise and what type of interest he can attract.

Now the obvious downside of this idea is that it is tough to guess what Jefferson's knee will be like going forward. However, I think this move allows us to have a strong post presence in Jefferson, move Bargnani to the 4 where he can play outside a bit more (which is obviously his strength and a good matchup nightmare). AP would be in a 6th man role, which is more suitable, I think. The other question is whether the Timberwolves would give up a player like Jefferson, who is locked up for the next 4 years, for Bosh, who could leave them in 2010.

23M$?
Re-sing Marion; 3-4 years; 10M$
Sign Childress and Zazha(as funkie said)
re-sign AP

You end up with

Bosh, Bargs, Zazha, Hump up front
Marion, Childress, AP, Kapono
Calderon, Ukic
+ whoever we draft
+ bunch of scrubs

And the team is still 'hanging on the ropes of mediocrity' as Depeche Mode says.

with 23 milions$
re-sign parker 3-4 millions each year for 2 years(I would be ready to give him more)
sign delfino 4-5 millions each year for 3 years(I would be ready to give him more)
try to re-sign marion for 13 millions each year for 3 years
won't re-sign graham beside if it is a year or less(because I think that he understood that his contract was ending so he started to work hard)
trade Kapono for something(I would like two players or Peterson)
and try to sign a draft pick

jeez. what song is that from? I thought i could spot a DM reference like nobody's business, but i guess not. I'll guess Exciter as it's the only album i don't have (nor do i plan on ever getting it).

And damn would i ever love to have Childress on this team.

Marion will not get 10 million with his new contract. Im hearing around 8. Why you ask? You must all remember that the NBA along with all other sports in North America is really struggling this year. There is already talk that the cap for the NBA will be lower next year. When that happends players will not be making as much money with new contracts signed. Low-MidHigh and max contracts will all be diffrent numbers then they are now.

Bring back smitch and give ball to Bosh every possession. Team needs to be prime rib instead of a stew.
