Default Yahoo Sports: "They wonít just show up in New York because itís New York"

Good read from Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo Sports regarding the "2010 Sweepstakes" and the dysfunctional franchise known as the New York Knickerbockers and how Walsh's decisions so far might not be doing his franchise any favours in attracting guys like LeBron or Bosh in 2010.

So far, Walshís top draft pick, Danilo Gallinari, has been lost with a bad back. He traded his two top scorers, Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford, for 2010 salary-cap space. One of the players returned in the trade, Mobley, has a heart condition troubling enough that his NBA future is in doubt. After an encouraging start to the season under DíAntoni, the Knicks are rapidly becoming unwatchable.

James and Bosh are playing for functional franchises that have surrounded them with good talent. They wonít just show up in New York because itís New York. Geography alone wonít earn New York its saviors. The NBA sent out a memo to teams on Wednesday, a reminder about tampering rules and consequences. Two league executives believed it was in response to Walshís public comments about James and Bosh.

I wish LeBron, Bosh, Wade, and Melo don't go NYN. That would be so funny watching Walsh's plan fail.

99% they won't get Bosh Bosh and Lebron. 90% they won't get anybody, unless they overpay. Who would want to go to NYK to be the laughinstock of the league? If they don't resign Lee and Robinson (the only way they could get enough cap space for two max players), that team would be a joke. Even if you get Lebron and Bosh, with no draft pick in 2010, they would have NOTHING else.

Not to mention that it makes little sense to have Lebron and Bosh on the same team. Bosh needs lots of touches to be effective, and so does Lebron. And neither is a great defender, so they would need 3 defensive players around them to make up for that. Plus that Bosh, if he has MVP dreams, he must play on a team where he is the top dog. Plus Cleveland is already very good, and have a chance to become better by adding talent in 2010 when they will have cap space.
