Default Yahoo Sports: Sam Wanted To Know Who "The Snitches" Were

Good read once again from Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports. He discusses the trials and tribulations of Sam and Colangelo's relationship in Toronto over the last couple years. Talks about a couple other interesting things too.

Remember when Sam went to play golf before the eve our last game in the playoffs against Orlando? Read on:

The Raptors could’ve practiced in Toronto and left later that Saturday between Games 4 and 5 of the Eastern Conference playoffs in April, but Mitchell wanted an early wake-up call and an early flight to Orlando. He would later say it was because he wanted his players to get extra shooting on the Amway Arena rims, but the rush to catch more daylight hours left an appearance that the motivation was less shooting, more swinging.

“I think the ship had already set sail with the players and Sam, but that didn’t help,” a league source said.

As for Colangelo, he has an intriguing decision to make. There’s long been a belief that he would hire Italian coach Ettore Messina, who is now with Russia powerhouse CSKA. Colangelo, a source close to him said, “would like that to happen, but knows that Ettore would have to be an assistant in the NBA first to gain some status with players.”

Once interim coach Jay Triano is out of the way, Colangelo will have to make the hire that’ll ultimately be a part of Chris Bosh’s choice to stay or go in 2010. Only the future of the franchise depends on it. He’s been one of basketball’s best GMs, one of its innovative thinkers and now Bryan Colangelo will get what everyone in his job wants these days: His own coach, his own vision unleashed.

Adrian Wojnarowski is the most respectable NBA writer IMO, he is not the kind that writes things without being sure they are true. I dont think we should make a big deal about it though.

I think BC has gone to Bosh and said we'll see what we could do this season, but next summer the ship will begin to be righted. He's probably talking to him about who he's thinking for the Next head coach of the Raptors and getting his imput!

I think Bosh and Lebron dont really lik eachother
Bosh is jealous of him deep down inside, its obvious LOL Bosh wants to BEAT Lebron to a NBA championship with his own team and a right-hand man like Wade or Melo
I wouldn't consider Wade a right hand man, but i think you guys get what i mean

If Bosh is gonna be on a championship, HE has to be the right-hand man.

I don;t think championship is the most important thing on CB's mind right now. He is still young, there's 10-12 years left in his career and there will be plenty of time to get a ring. I'm pretty sure the Bosh sees himself as capable of being THE MAN on a championship team - and by becoming a sidekick to Lebron or Wade, he can forget about that - forever. He will never ever be in another MVP discussion, if they win a title, most of the credit will go to Lebron as the best player on the team, and if they don't win, most of the blame will be on Bosh, since Lebron already went to the finals with a so-so supporting cast. It's really a lose-lose scenario, and even if Bosh doesn't realize that, his agent will probably make it clear to him (especially given that his agent has all the reasons to want Bosh to stay).

I'm not surprised that Bosh will have a say in the new coaching hire. But the big question for me is whether Bosh and Colangelo are on the same page about the team's style.

Obviously Mitchell and Colangelo had a much different view. Colangelo wanted "Euro-style" ball while Mitchell wanted physical, defensive ball.

But does Bosh want to play Euro-style? I'm guessing yes (because of his success against Euro teams in the Olympics). But what do I know?
