if we ended up winning 25+ games despite all the management's best efforts to tank the season?

After all, the core of the team is the same as last year's and it's not unreasonable to see some progress from davis, derozan and even amir. Heck, I'm scared to think what could happen if casey throws the hammer at Bargnani and he starts playing some defense.

With all the veteran leadership this team sorely missed last season (when reggie is your leader you know you have problems), who knows what will happen.

Given how rigorous the schedule will be for most, if not all, of the teams, I suspect there could be a few strange things occuring. I don't think the Raps will be one of the teams overachieving though. If anything, improved defense will simply minimize the otherwise disgusting bleeding. I think the Raps play something like 17 road games during a 26 game stretch. That is just nasty.

We are going to see so much shitty basketball it will be mindboggling. I knew the schedule was going to be bad but when I actually saw it I was floored. Only the deep teams will be able to stand the wear and tear of stars/elite roleplayers.

I think there will be couple of old stretches, but the schedule will make it tough. When your top scorer relies on jump shots and has his legs kill his percentages in a normal schedule, then this schedule can't bode well. If they can gain some clarity out of the muddled mess, then a couple of good stretches will have significant meaning going forward.

A lot depends on Casey and whether he can get Demar, Jose and Andrea to play D. This team can score.

I think thats been the problem of previous coaches. Thats why I like what Casey stated, implement a system that works to what the players can give than trying to implement and force a system on players. Don't get me wrong and it's not another excuse but it's easier to start when you have a base and then expand and grow - like getting a degree in school you start at year 1 then build to year 4, not jump to year 4 and then get all pissed that they don't get it.

I don't think that we will do very well this year because of our lack of premier talent (unless DeRozan somehow turns into a season 3/4 Vince Carter).

However, our youth and, if we are healthy depth will help us with the compressed schedule compared to a lot of teams that have a lot of old guys and a lot of new guys.

Looking at the schedule with the reality 7 games in 9 days, I even think there is a 9 in 12, this one lone season is going to be about conditioning and rotation management more then it has ever been and more then it ever will again. With that considered I don't think you are off at 25 wins, there is going to be alot steal potential in the Atlantic with Boston, NY, and NJ.
