Offensively, yeah I'd say it is.

But Wiggins is by far the better defender and probably better rebounder due to his length.

if we did have drummond right now instead of ross.................

god Ujiri would wreak havoc with trades if we did that and didn't trade for gay or telfair. assets ujiri could have had, assuming NYK would have done the trade we did regardles..

also assuming we let Calderon walk

toronto second round (forget which year)
whichever picks we got from NYK
val
drummond
Ed
DD
Amir
Lowry
fields
TH
novak
scrubs

I mean sure, the bottom of the list ain't pretty, but look at the top. drummond plus say ed or val plus ed could have landed us some sweet sweet deals

Having Aldridge instead of Bargs would be nice too.. I like Ross and there's no point to say what could've, should've happen.. it didn't, fuck it!
BC did some pretty shitty trades and signings over the years but I don't think his drafting was that bad

The issue is he handcuffed his drafting with other moves. For example, we all know that DD has some strengths on offense but if the raps didn't have that Jose deal then the raps could've drafted Jrue Holiday, Teague or Lawson as PG and the PG situation would've been resolved for many many years.

Teague = overrated imo.

BC was terrilbe but it all goes back to Bosh. If he trades Bosh instead of letting him walk we have assets for the coming years and he probabaly doesnt feel so desperate to make the moves he eventually ended up making to try to keep his job. A lesson re: Lowry although it hardly is the same return. The good part is the Ujiri DIDN'T make the same mistake with Melo.

yeah, but Bosh fucked us over because he always said that he wants to stay if we can show progress. When in fact his mind was already made up. That threat of Bosh leaving caused all the issues, we were poised to have max cap space in 2010 with JO expiring, but BC had to show progress so we had to sacrifice that for cap space one season earlier (at the cost of a draft pick).

The true mistake was the trade for JO, and not necessarily because we gave away the pick, but it shown how misguided the hopes were that we were one big trade away. And as I'm writing this, it really all started in 06 when we had to try to build a playoff team right away to convince Bosh to stay. Had we not signed parker/gabarjosa and traded for TJ, we probably would have drafted somebody else (since we had CV) and that roster would have sucked so bad, we could have gotten a top pick in a loaded draft.

yeah, hindsight is painful.

Interesting to see the change in the train of thought of the Raptor fans.
At first all the hype around Lowry, JV, Gay, but now calling for trades.

The waste of $12.6 million on Gray, Novak and Fields is ridiculous. Kleiza alone was averaging similar to their total stats for $4.6-5 million. For $12-15 million you could probably get Jeff Green, Hibbert, Horford or Millsap,.

Also, there is no experienced centre who would help JV develop. And what's the point to have similar type players in Hansbrough and Amir?

Good luck trying to sell Gay's contract.
