Yea, he's either a bit overrated or underused or tired. Heck I'd trade anyone on this team for a top pick in next years draft, but no one is going to trade up a pick next year.

I can't wait for Rudy to be traded, and JV to get the actual fucking ball.
Randell is the only one I'd give a hell no to.

Yes, although I wouldn't throw a fit if it was offered and wasn't taken.

That all depends if it's guaranteed top 5 pick than yes, but if it's not than I wouldn't

We finally have a 2 way center for the next decade or so (if extended) and you want to trade him? My answer is no. When we have 2 volume shooters and a PG that P&R isn't in his playbook all we see from JV is very little. JV in the next few years can and will become a 15/10 center if not even better. Just get him involved, and don't play him 20 MPG.

How will he do that with those players around though and the coach? Again - JV is being outclassed by other guys in his draft class and 1 year younger.

For the range, I say no - hard to come by real two-way centers in this league. But it really is a but of a toss up - I certainly wouldn't be furious with the move.
maybe you mean potential two-way center, I'm not at all convinced JV will ever be a strong defensive presence, there's really no indication so far. If he becomes that, it will probably take a while for it to happen too.

I was always a bit intrigued why is JV considered such a strong prospect - I assumed it was because of his results in youth tournaments combined with a reputation for being a hard worker and having that "motor" scouts love so much.
He was also supposed to be skilled for his age.

I have to say, I'm not seeing any of these factors in his game, except for this performance in youth/summer tournaments. He's not a hustler like noah was for the bulls, he's not skilled like Sullinger is in Boston and if he's a hard worker, it's definitely not showing - his game is only marginally better this season compared to the last.

He doesn't have many weaknesses, so he will probably be very solid, but I'm less and less convinced JV is all star material. I really, really hope I'm wrong here, but until I see some evidence to the contrary, I'm not willing to buy into any excuses anymore. Did that with Bargnani for 7 years and I guess my tank is on empty ...

I've only seen Parker & Wiggins play so far this year, so I would trade him for either of the top 2.

Being the top player among his peers still means something, and he's still a 21 year old playing against the biggest, strongest players in the NBA.

It's hard to see what we really have in some of our players with Casey at the helm.

JV does so many things, that don't show up on stats sheet. He always gets a hand on ball on the offensive glass. Even if he doesn't get rebound he changes direction of the ball, that's why we come up with so many offensive boards. His shot blocking is also underrated imo. Fans are very inpatient, he is only 21 and has tons of learning to do. But the tools are definitely there, he has great work ethic, motor and size the rest will come. Not expecting him to be in talks for allstar until he is 25

Except the last 4 games or so it hasn't been JV keeping the rebounds alive for teammates to grab, it's been his counterpart; catching JV unready, with his hands down around his waist. The work ethic/motor has not been there lately.

Well, try to play a FIFA, or NBA game with a guy(in the same team) who will always play the "hero ball" and you'll understand how frustrated JV should be

and I don't blame him. Our P&R sucks and none of our PG can feed him properly. The only guy who passes the ball to him is Amir.

If you think about trading a center like JV, then there must be something really wrong with this organization. Players who have an inside solid game like Jv, good rebounding skills, decent shot blocking, great FT ratio, come rarely in decades.
JV is a very talented center but DC is killing him. The good idea is to fire DC.

Really? Because we just happen to have two on our roster, we must be really lucky.

Meant to say Wiggins or Parker.
