If we get Wiggins or something we'd be in a much better spot than competing for 8th seed every year.

This is why BC and Casey have to go. It was clear to every single person who follows the NBA that we weren't making playoffs, and yet we were still trying to win games. Imagine if we didn't have Butler, we would have won even more games, he was the only one in full support of the tank lol.

The problem is we probably won't even have a chance at Wiggins without a full rebuild because I assume will improve enough that we won't be the worst team in the NBA next year.

I think whenever you're building a team, you have to ask, is it a team that has parts to win a championship in the next 5 years. Right now, looking at this team, there's only one guy I can see playing a significant and key role on a championship team.

However, that also mean's we have some pieces that are pieces on a good team but not necessarily this team (guys who would look good on established teams e.g. Jose, Amir, Andrea, Lowry etc.)

So, would you support management saying, screw this, let's be real bad, let's collect as many assets as we can and fully (for once) commit to this thing. No rush jobs. No excelerating the process. Keeping a coach who will grow with the team (I don't care if it's Casey, if it is, I'd be fine with it). I'd be with o.k. with it. Why? The rot of this team is at its core. Anyone who's been a part of a bad organization in their lives can identify with this. You can be a fine individual, but when you enter into an organization with significant problems (senior management all the way down) you too are affected.

If we're able to completely remove this rot (and it would be painful) then I think we'd finally be turning a page on an approximately 10 year problem.
I've been proposing pretty much all that for the past couple of years. So, yes, sure, go ahead, you have my vote.

It's not really about which strategy you take (bottoming out or re-tooling), it's about how you do it. Take the Rockets for example. They never bottomed out and people killed them for it for years, but it ended up working for them. The reason being they did an amazing job collecting assets in every way except getting lottery picks. They traded for extra picks, got steals in the 2nd round, traded players at the height of their value, used the cap beautifully.

BC's problem isn't the strategy of not bottoming out, it's the fact that he's terrible at his chosen strategy. BC ignores non lottery draft picks, uses capspace worse than anyone, waits too long to trade players, etc. He tried to build a playoff team this season while leaving probably leaving 15-20 wins on the table solely by how much his players are getting paid vs what they are producing

True, we need a rebuild, get young talent. OH wait... We have young talent, we suck. How is this not a rebuild?
We'll be better next year, it's just we wont have another 18-20 year old coming in next year... Which is fine with me. I'm more then happy to not have to see stupid ass rotations and mistakes and hear 'oh he's young... oh he's a rookie.. he'll learn.' Tell me, how is he going to learn when everyone around him is making the same 'rookie mistakes'. We need older more experience and proven players.
It's not like our core is going anywhere next year. We were fine with going with this core this year, so I'm fine with going with it again next year. When we get rid of the garbage around the core, and get better players.. not younger players... we'll be fine.
We'll have cap space to add vets to lead the talent
this year is gone to shit, but the future still has hope.

IF Raps brass brought in someone like Steve Kerr as GM and President.... AND we grabbed ourselves a decent PROVEN coach (SVG, Sloan, JVG, etc) THEN I could consent to supporting a rebuild.

If it's a rebuild under this current regime then I'd have to say that I'd rather jump off the CN Tower and hope to catch my eyelid on a rusty nail on the way down.

Until then I'll pray that a trade for Pau (and the exile of Bargs) saves our team.
