Default Would You Consider Ruben Patterson?

Ruben was cut from the Nuggets yesterday. As much as he is a pain in the arse off the court, he might be a nice addition to this team. Excellent defender (or at least he used to be) and might be better back-up to Parker than say Adams would.

Thoughts?

Id rather Fazekas and then trade Hump/Joey for that backup wing and filler, or even Kapono and Hump for a backup wing/filler

Trade Hump/Joey for the back-up wing? Snooch, no one would trade a backup wing player for either guy.

As for taking Patterson, I would. I think he's a real hard nosed defender that will push Joey/Moon. Can't shoot to save his life, but he plays decent D.

As for Fazekas, Denver - a team that is in desperate need for bigs - cut him.. so what does that say about him?

We have a spot on the roster. Whats to lose to sign him for the veterans min?

He and Joey at the same time would be like the 70's Philly Flyers team.

Talking for Both.
Joeys an expiring and Hump plays real hard, energetic, worth someones backup wing player.(bellinelli mabey)

And as far as Denver releasing Fazekas.....they traded Camby for 2 second round picks, I wouldnt be so quick to trust their assessments.

I think they traded Camby so that they wouldn't pay much more in tax money. Fazekas would have made the minimum. So, I don't think it breaks the bank.

Either way, my main point was that nothing good will come from bringing in Patterson, in my opinion, He is just a thug like player who wouldnt be a good adittion to the team.

If it was Fazekas, at least some good would come from it.

I would rather Luke Jackson back, he was released by Portland yesterday.

Sure, Joey is an expiring, but at what? 2.5 mil? Hump does play hard, but he's a black hole and at best, the 2nd big man off the bench.. and no way GSW lets go of Bellinelli for Joey and Humphries.

JO was a thug back when he was in Portland.. and Indiana...
This team needs toughness, and Patterson brings it. It wouldn't be a bad addition for the vet min.

Fazekas hasn't proved anything - except for the fact that he was a decent collegiate player.

If we feel our perimeter defense needs an upgrade, then I'd be willing to go after Patterson. He's a thug yes, but I'd say he'd be the one guy on our team willing to step in if something went wrong (i.e. Horford wouldn't have gotten away with the TJ thing last season).

Offensively he would limit us, but seeing how the offense is going to be running through the low posts and not the wings it's not that much of a hindrance. I say he'd be a good addition and maybe wake Jamario up a bit too.

Toronto doesnt need to sift through other teams Garbage right now. These guys would all get here and immediately start showing you why they got cut.

We gotta deal with what we have for now. Solomon will turn it around, he isn't a bad player. Roko...we'll see.

if the effin MLSE wasn't so cheap, we'd already have a top tier wing, but don't hold your breath

Yup. CHampionships cost money. MLSE is satisfied just to make money. They didn't go the extra mile with the Leafs, so chances are, there's a snowball's chance in hell they'd spend the extra money for the Raps.

In thier eyes, why should they.

The upside for that team wining a championship is insane for the franchise, but they are not about taking risk. It's a 100% business venture, and with the recesion coming, nothing will change in this decade

MLSE needs to learn if they pay some extra luxury tax money that it will pay off if the raps can get the wing man they need to put them up there with Boston. Then if they make it to say the eastern conference finals that is extra money from tickets, the sea of red t-shirts and jersies.

I would consider Ruben Patterson if I were entering an eating contest and I needed a partner or if I was going to knock off the local corner store. Otherwise, no.

While I'm definitely still a fan of Patterson's game, I don't really think adding Everyone's Favourite NBA Sex Offender is that great of an idea.

We really really REALLY should have made a hard push to go after Artest before the already loaded Rockets got him. I was watching a Rockets game hilight film the other day, and fuck, Artest still has it!
