Default Worst Backourt in the NBA

Maybe I'm being irrational, but don't we have the worst starting backcourt in the NBA, offensively and defensively. They bring 00 impact to the game. Just throwing the thought out there. Could someone provide a link to some sort of stat that may prove this theory!!

Wow to think this thread didn't come up earlier. I'd have to agree its somewhere in the bottom 5. I'd have to do some homework to verify that. 100 bucks says this topic will be in print in 7 days.

I was bored so I made a very unscientific chart.

It seems to prove your point however...In terms of points scored anyway.

The combined PPG between guards who play 1st and 2nd most minutes on each team.

Boston: 26.3
New Jersey: 27.1
New York: 19
Philadelphia: 35.5
Toronto: 20.5
Chicago: 29
Cleveland: 26.2
Detroit: 37.1
Indiana 24.8
Milwaukee: 29.7
Atlanta: 38.5
Charlotte: 27.7
Miami: 37.6
Orlando: 33.3
Washington: 30.2
Dallas: 25.9
Houston: 23.9
Memphis: 24.8
New Orleans: 34.4
San Antonio: 28.6
Denver: 32.8
Minnesota: 22.9
Portland: 27.3
Oklahoma City: 23.3
Utah: 31.1
Golden State: 33.5
LAC: 33
LAL: 36.4
Phoenix: 33.6
Sacramento: 33.4

In the Raptors defence, Derozan hasn't touched the ball much... well at all.

I used Jack in my chart because he logs the second most minutes after caldy.

the calderon/jack backcourt is really not that effective because Calderon is probably the worst defender in the league and jack at SG looses a lot of height to most SG which are also usually the star players on the opposing team, add in the fact that jack hasn't been able to shoot the ball well so he is a non-factor in the offense and Calderon can only shoot set shots wide open
if its Calderon and demar then really its just Calderon because at this point demar is a rookie and is really raw, he hasn't been able to do much but at the same time i can't blame him, next year if he doesn't improve then i will blame him

Every game Derozan starts with great energy and attacks the basket.
Every game he is benched in favor of Wright and Jack.
Every time the game thread has people questioning this decision.

Even if his benching is justified for defensive purposes, its not fair. You put the kid in the toughest matchup and expect him to do well on defense?

The bigger problem is that Derozan is basically asked to carry Jose along defensively to start games. Jose needs a solid experienced defender alongside him, or Derozan needs a guy paired up with him that is going to give the team defense as a whole a chance to succeed.
