We don't necessarily need to rescind the offer...

Oops, I just realized I totally forgot about Ross...

Perhaps we should, then... Or trade DeRozan... Or commit to Fields as a backup SF... Hmm...

Hmm Fields is well known as a solid defender but yes he would have trouble against the larger SF's but as much as I love JJ's game...
No one on the Raptors can slow down the SF's u just mentioned & thats a fact.

OK, let's go slower through the rosters. Those three I've mentioned are the true monsters, but even they could be somewhat slowed down by a pesky, properly sized and mobile defender, with help from his teammates, of course, and JJ has shown to be quite capable of doing just that.

But aside from those elite offensive weapons, what about Gay, Galinari, Deng, Dunleavy, Granger, Beasley, among others? All these guys are long, athletic, can shoot as well as post up and drive to the basket...

We are living in PG-SF paradise right now. PG Renaissance came with the new rules and new generation of great players, but the same rules, especially on the perimeter, have allowed these 6'9"-6'10" former "thin tweeners" to thrive and become the most elite set of players in the league. It's very hard to deal with them when one is at most 6'7" and of average athleticism.

He was drafted at 16, traded for 28, and now again for 30-40th pick. It seems a bit of a logical progression for a player that teams don't see as being nearly as valuable as some Raptors' fans. I think too many Raptors' fans are used to watching a lottery / tanking sort of team, and have exaggerated opinions of players on that team (like J Johnson). With one year left and $2.8 million on his contract, I am sure that if BC could have traded him for more, he would have. Apparently, other teams don't think he's as good as some Raptors' fans.
