Purely subjective start regarding MU's thinking and certainly the interpretation of stats are becoming subjective. You say top 5 he said best. JV is our most coveted piece, DD is a top wing, Amir is an aggressive hustler and KL's play says he's our best player atm.

Since the trade, the team has an ORTG of 110.8 and a DRTG of 100.6 with Lowry on the court.

Without him on the court? 99.3 and 104.0.

That's roughly a 15 point per game swing.
just as comparison Vasquez had 34 ORTG and 111 DRTG vs Wizards

Saying that a stat comparing the team's efficiency with Lowry on and off is also comparing Lowry to Vasquez isn't subjective. That's not interpretation - that is fact. Nobody else has played pg.

That is absolutely another way to see that but I can only truly debate with what I'm seeing on the court. Doesn't matter if it's just KL vs GV, the stats are saying KL is the best player on the team atm. Saying it's not as important cause the team has had only the 2 pg's is a discredit to KL imo. I don't discount what you're saying in the slightest except how we value KL's impact to the team.

Better if you cite Vasquez ratings since the trade. You've picked on one game, so the comparisons aren't equivalent. I expect that Vasquez's ratings should be lower than KL be cause 1) he's the back-up 2) the players on the court aren't as good as the players in the starting line-up with KL.

Just a thought... his ratings on both ends might also be lower because he sucks balls.

It's still worth knowing what the numbers are rather than just venting.

While you're right that we should use context when using stats, a 34 ORTG is terrible regardless of context. When vasquez was on the floor the team scored 34 points per 100 posessions. 34. That's incomprehensibly bad.

Sure,
Vasquez since the trade: 88.27 ORTG and 103.9 DRTG
Kyle Lowry since the trade: 124.85 ORTG and 100.92 DRTG

Huge gap imo and shows just how shitty Vasquez is playing.

I see room for a lot of internal growth with this team, Demar and Amir improve year after year bit by bit, and Ross and JV had a lot of room to improve and that seems to be the direction that they're heading as time goes by.
Lowry seems very much to like it here but I have no idea about his future by the trade deadline or free agency period.
