Hopefully the guy can stay as a coach. Having both McGuire and Big Cat would be awsome.

And I stand by disagreeing with you. Denver says hello.

Making West Conference finals is like brushing teeth for Denver...

Denver has a well-defined core. Toronto has a bunch of players that everyone is sick to death of. Depth means something in one instance, and very little in the other.

Agreed, though it is irrelevant that everyone is sick of players or not. Denver has more high end talent compared to our guys that we hope to still develop to their potential... prime example is Demar. They have the depth but they also have more talent.

I think the problem is our depth was vastly overrated, our bench sucked badly so far.

depth is critical for any good nba team - you need it to ride out injuries and to keep you in games while you rest your top 5-6 guys. once in a while a depth guy goes off and wins you a game or two. great. but it's totally irrelevant if your starting 5 isn't good enough to win ballgames.

we have a couple of solid young pros, a couple of prospects, and then 11-12 bench players. that's not depth, that's just a bad team.

I never understood this "added depth" theory anyway. Our bench consists of Anderson, Kleiza, a rookie, Davis/Amir + Gray. Now our obvious strength off the bench is Calderon who has underperformed. This bench is no better than last season other than at PG. Take Lowry out (as we see now) and we have no better a team as we had last season.

OK so i guess everyone agrees that we're not a deep team then.

Or at least the toronto raptor standard of depth is substandard to the rest of the league.

Yep, if we have better depth we could sustain a key injury or two. Which of course underlines the importance of depth.

I think we are quite deep. We have very good complementary pieces off the bench. The issue is throwing 5 complementary guys out there with no stars (even the borderline "stars" this team has) - any good bench will look bad if it is completely misused.
