Five years is a lot (it's what Colangelo got) and says a lot about the patience Leiweke has to build this thing properly.

Biggest reason for time it took Ujiri to decide on move stemmed from strong bond with Denver CEO Josh Kroenke, sources say.

Five years for Ujiri indicates to some that MLSE has given green light to take whatever path necessary, including 2014 superdraft tanking

You don't accept a deal for 5 years to see if you can make it work with a core already in place. Masai will wipe BC's grubby finger prints off of this mess and build it from the bottom-up.

So you guys are just going to accept that? Still watch games on tv? Still go to games? Knowing that this team has no intention of being good anytime soon? Knowing that the last 2-3 season were just a waste of time?

With Ujiri back in Toronto, who lasts longest from here: Bryan Colangelo, Andrea Bargnani, DeMar DeRozan?
really?

As much as I like wiggins, im not supporting a tank. Knowing our luck in the lottery itll go to some other team. Jabari is good too though.. We'll have to see what Ujiri says at the press conference.

Yea, I would. And I love the players on the current team too.

Again, Raptors had only gone hard after Ujiri and Phil Jackson. Plan C would have taken some scrambling.

five years indicates that they wanted to offer ujiri a large package to get him here. hack ass writers.

i'm glad this happened! now just give me a good experienced head coach and I'll be happily held over until the team starts making moves on the court.

I agree.

If anything i would do what it took to trade for the #1 pick next year and with TL's ties to the league with Stern you hope that a deal can be struck to get the hometown boy here.

Having a savvy GM who makes sound decisions, doesn't panic and sticks to a plan is going to be a HUGE adjustment for Raptors fans.
