A few people probably already knew. A while back, in another thread, Dan mentioned his conversations with a particular writer over twitter. Out of curiousity I took a look.

I think someone mentioned this before, but we should offer new contract to Gay( obviously more reasonable) and if he doesn't agree trade him, because that indicates he is after the money and doesn't really want to be a Raptor

Mentioned sure but I would believe that nothing happens till a couple months in - players and management I'm sure want to see how the first couple of months go. Why extend now and limit yourself financially? That and Rudy might not even be on the Raps after the season, so if he doesn't like where he goes he can still opt out.

Yea I don't mean right now.. once the season starts and we evaluate little better, then do it.

I think he is going to try and squeeze a 14M-16M a year next contract which will be for 3-4 years probably. I can see teams paying that kind of money, if he is healthy.

I'm sure he'll get as much as he can, if he's healthy and returning to form then I can easily see 12-14 mil a year in this new CBA world. There is no denying the positive impact RG has with his current team mates.

I'm curious, Hollinger stated RG was a horrible fit in Memphis, yet in TO, RG had a net positive impact from the get go (while not being 100%).

Wonder what his WOWY was in memphis compared to here - in so far if he really was an impediment to the teams success.

He was very close to neutral for most of their team.. Very negative with Bayless, medium positive for a few other bench players. +3.2 with Tony Allen.

Thanks DanH, very appreciated. I guess it could explain why it made no difference if he was there or not (in the simplest of ways). Allen moves a lot without the ball, same as Fields does so that makes sense why both are a net positive. Other than that, Memphis doesn't move around much so RG turns into a last second spot-up shooter - if he ever got the ball before Conely or Zach or Marc I think the results would have been more positive. I would think a team like GSW would be ideal for his type of play.
